Wish Harley had kept the mag wheels as an option. My Night Train has a laced wheel on the front and it's a pain to keep clean and if you get a flat on the road you're stuck calling a tow truck. I will never have another bike with a laced wheel.
@shortattentionspangarage131224 күн бұрын
I agree. I've had enough laced wheels in my life that between keeping them clean, rust, and not being able to easily plug a tire on the side of the road I've sworn them off street bikes completely.

Would it be possible to have a same kind of slowdown and torque mechanism but much more smaller? Because I have chosen this machine because I can easily mount it on a kitchen table. And a 'professional' machine always comes with a proprietary table for it, for which I haven't got any room unfortunately. So do you know if there is a way to slow the machine down, with the same kind of torque and speed, in a much smaller solution?
@shortattentionspangarage131215 күн бұрын
Anything's possible, but what you're proposing isn't readily available, which is why I went this route. These servo motors and speed controllers are available as kits all day long on Amazon.

A lot of the bench test that I've seem use a light to indicate when the alternator is charging, does that not apply to this type of alternator?
@shortattentionspangarage131215 күн бұрын
I guess it could, but the fact that the drill was heavily loaded as the voltage dropped tells me there's a load so I didn't need a bulb to be redundant.

Yea, I've heard stories of total failures on all the welder brands. That's why I went cheap. I figure it's a roll of the dice regardless of the brand. If HF had their Vultan ProTIG 200 when I bought this I would have gotten that one.

Repair that circuit board annd keep it as a spare; hate to say it but you may well need that spare in the future. MOSFETs are easily to find at a good electronics supply house.
@shortattentionspangarage13123 ай бұрын
I've got it around here somwhere, and yes replacement MOSFET's are pretty cheap. Maybe someday I'll get around to swapping them out.
@mannoamano9199Ай бұрын
@@shortattentionspangarage1312 Those were not MOSFETS they are linear voltage regulators but true replacement Semi-conductors, Ics, transistors etc, are very cheap if you know how to trace and troubleshoot components on the circuit boards

👋🏻👀 I got my machine a while back ago and I've done a few mods to mine also, I'm always looking at what other people did to their machine to improve it, I also would want to put a motor on mine but the motor I got is way too fast I have to figure out ways to slow the speed down, I might try something like what you did, I'm not sure yet 😊👍🏻

Hey ~ Thanks for sharing your AHP experience. Mine, I think just the second generation ~ 200XP or something like that ~ got shipped back, tested, and returned at one point. They said "nothing's wrong." So Ok Ok Ok but then the digital readout "floats." I'm just ignoring that, set the middle dial at something more or less straight up and looking at the end of the stick and pool development then go from there. Too hot? Too cold? I try for "just right." Oh well, it works. For me it's grind it, weld it, grind it, paint it, forget about it. All DC negative. 😜

My feeling exactly. GFCI circuits have issues also. Harmonic distortion can cause them to trip. NEC requires them everywhere now. I refuse to have them on my freezer, refrigerator, sump pump, sewage pump and other critical devices.
@alexs277811 ай бұрын
They trip sometimes when something with motor is plugged in. My guess is when there's considerate sparks fly between rotor and brushes (brushless motors shouldn't have that issue I think). In one one of my jobs it would trim while I run table say on that line but only when enough sparks were produced by motor. Definitely not a smart idea for disposal which has such motor, I think they should have used GFCI breaker instead and even that is probably not required.

The feeling of finally getting your project in motion after many months of delayed gratification must feel amazing. I am working on a project similar to yours (except I’m using 3 wheels lol) and I’m currently welding the frame. Still need implement the electronics (electric motor, controller, etc) so I still have a lot to do but I’d be a proud man if I can finally get my creation to move. This video is truly an inspiration to those embarking on similar projects. Thank you ❤ subbed
