When I practice, my mother sometimes walks by to go to the kitchen or something. She usually doesn't want to disturb, so she doesn't say anything and just continue on her way. But every time I pick one of your arrangements, while I practice it, she will come and even interrupt me to say :"wow this is beautiful, what is it?". Last time it was with Ori and the Will of the wisp medley, and today again with this arrangement, I was just beginning sightreading it when she came and said "oh this is beautiful". She really never interrupts like that, so it's even more remarkable to me, and this makes me really happy and proud. But I also think all credit should go to you ! So thank you !
@Caliko4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for letting me know! Nothing makes me as happy as knowing that somewhere someone is practicing my arrangements, honestly! Also, I absolutely get that feeling, my mom has a habit of not commenting on my playing ever, so it feels extra special when she says "oh, that's really pretty" once in a while. Parental seal of approval lol

I did want to include "is" at first, but it somehow doesn't really work for piano, I played it for a bit and it feels off. I think I'll leave that one be in it's original version, not every great song makes a good piano cover

Should’ve commented on this sooner, but here goes - Terror in Resonance is an anime that’s close to my heart, and the soundtrack contributed a lot to my falling in love with the piano. So discovering your beautiful covers - which elevate what are already fantastic compositions - is something I’m truly grateful for. I’ve lived through what feels like a lifetime of experiences in the decade since I first heard Walt, and finding this video a couple years back came at the perfect time for me. And honestly, each time I return to it (which I have done several times), it helps to ground and center me - to be hopeful for tomorrow, and to be better than I was yesterday; but most of all, to appreciate that I have today. So, all this to say: Thank you for sharing your playing with the world, and I hope your tomorrow is bright.

Love the sound quality with your new recording setup! It sounds very light and airy which fits this soundtrack so well. One of the great anime soundtrack masterpieces for sure, I just love the Icelandic influences so much (probably where the winter flavor comes from) and still remember how excited I was to realize that Arnor Dan helped create it. And lastly, your arrangement of the medley flows nicely and captures the spirit of the soundtrack. Overall a great honoring of a beautiful score!

Wow, that was beautiful. I once learned Walt as well, it took me a good time, but it was worth it. I sadly haven't really played piano since then... I imagine if I ever have enough money to buy a house and a grand piano in my 40s, I will come back and re-learn it and the rest of the songs as well. For now, I'm practising writing kanji to this medley :) And also... I made it to Japan this year. Visited Tokyo, Nagoya and Kyoto. In Nagoya, there was a Ferris wheel outside my hotel window. Very randomly placed. It immediately reminded me of this anime. It's on of the animes I resonate with the most, and I don't think I will ever forget it, because I keep coming back to listen to the soundtrack. I'm from a somewhat cold place as well...
