If you're just starting out flight simming and don't know if you will like it or not, then a Thrustmaster Hotas X is cheap and cheerful. You can move on to better things when you get into it.

Thanks for the review of Yoko. I've been a flight sim enthusiast since the 80s. I've seen that yoke advertised, from time, to time, though never got to try it. The closest thing to it I've found is the flight yoke by CH Products. I'm sure the Yoko has much smother glide when moved, than the CH yoke. Both use springs to give that increased force, the farther you move the control. Neither has a centering detent. I'd love to get my hands on the Yoko, though.
@squirrel

My point was that if you review a gift from a company then it would be more suitable to choose something that an average view might buy, by reviewing this it gives the impression that you done this deal for yourself to get someone you would never buy your self when instead you could of reviewed a cheaper piece of kit that you actually might of bought your self,

You actually can see what the ruler is telling you in the video. What is the ruler saying good sir? :) Add 5mm to that because I am 99.9% certain that is the gap from the edge to zero. Edit; Just for the content, he did say 95mm... well.. 9.5cm whatever :P And that is what the ruler are telling me as well. So.... :)

I can see in terms of it's build quality it's obviously better than other products available for the simmers amongst us, but is it really 800 euro better? I can sure see the justification for charging more but it seems to me to be a huge leap and I just don't know if the leap of that size is justified for what you're getting.
@CMDRSweeper
@CMDRSweeper 7 жыл бұрын
Sadly this Yoke falls very short of the target area. For that price it would have to excel in flying heavy jets, but if it already shows signs of being a GA product that only gives part of it's good feeling, then I would shop around. I rarely fancy taking a GA out and about in sims anymore, if I fancy a scenic tour, I would be the whacko that goes low and slow with a MD-11.

£688 for a yoke. Wow, I need to get into this business. I've got to ask, why is it so expensive? I'm an Engineering student and the actual electronics and mechanics behind it are incredibly simple. I would expect it to cost about £75 to manufacture at the most.

I liked the video and it was very informative. I'm also appreciative that you indicate this video as sponsored; it makes you appear transparent and as if you have nothing to hide. Only criticism is I wouldn't say that flying the jets is all fly by wire while showing video of you flying the 737 which is not fly by wire. Show the 777 or A320 which are fly by wire. It's a small thing, but still incorrect nonetheless.

I wasted a lot of money buying a few cheaper yokes. I was never happy when flying with them. Finally, I bought this yoke. I couldn't believe the difference. I love it. The problem is that the cheaper made yokes (not all) don't respond in a realistic way to what you experience in the aircraft. If you will use the sim to complement your flight training, you need good equipment. This will cost you but it is worth it. If you will just fly around without flight skills development, a good (mid-range cost) will work. Don't get the really cheap products. They are just no good.

+Hannah Crawford I have a Vive but I've not tried FlyInside yet. What are the frame rates like ?
@hannahcrawford9198
@hannahcrawford9198 7 жыл бұрын
I'd highly recommend it. I can only speak for the FSX version of the mod but it's surprisingly good, it uses a technique called reprojection to artificially increase the framerate. I'd say that if your PC can hold 30fps in an airport normally it will feel completely smooth like it's at 90fps in the headset. That being said I do the the occasional drop in some airports. So I guess what I'm saying is that the game is updating at around the same framerate you normally get but the mod smooths it out really well to an almost consistant 90 even if the game is at like 30. They have a free 15 min per flight restricted demo on the site if you'd like t try before you buy.
