I have been putting these on all my trucks for about 10 yrs now…F150s, Chevy 2500 diesels, and ford rangers and even the wife’s little suv…My 2 wheel drive rangers do pretty good in light mud or snow now. They are great on the highway, don’t hurt your gas mileage, but have enough aggressive tread for your basic off-road or bad weather… seem to last a long time at a reasonable price … even the E load version has been good on the diesels that tow a trailer almost every day.They even did well in a Florida rainstorm from hell when on vacation In Orlando.

Not sure but it looks like the set of tires used in the test were the P metric version, the pics shown along with the specs were the LT version. It would be better to show specifically what tires are being tested. The LTs have larger tread voids and are a bit better in mud. I have G015s on my Jeep Compass, LT235/75r15's, and generally speaking I think they are good tires. They are particularly fun to drive in snow and do well on ice also. I have found that occasionally they do slip sideways on wet pavement in cool weather, it's a controllable slide and they will stop fine in a straight line, but it is unsettling. I suspect it is related to the Compass being a light vehicle compared to the weight rating of these LTs.

I just purchased Yokohama Geolander AT G015 225/65 17 for my wife's Jeep Renegade Trailhawk before the recent snowstorm in Washington state. They have great traction in rain, snow, and on icy roads. The tries also work well on the muddy back roads after the snow thawed. I purchased the Geolanders for their severe winter ability and to keep traction on a winding 1/4 mile gravel road going up a mountain. They have done both exceptionally! I wanted something to put up with my bs. Living in NV, offroad exploring and snow is our playground. But it gets serious quick if you dont have the right equipment. Seeing yours power through the mud is reassuring, though I do wish the sidewall was more aggressive like my current tire. If I'm 80-90% 45-65mph highway with occasional 1-5" snowfall in the winter, are these tires for me? If not, what do you recommend?

@Jeremy Pleso Thats a good question. They have been great for me in snow and overall winter conditions. But I would recommend checking with a local tire expert.

How is it in snow? Does it slide alot during brakes?

@Giorgi Gachechiladze Honestly these tires have done great for me. They feel solid and planted in snow and ice. Not as good as dedicated winter tires obviously, but really good for all terrain tires. I hope that helps.

You said they were good but you would have liked to see a more aggressive tread and more siping...that would have made them a more off road/snow biased tyre that wouldn't have been as good on the road or in the wet...then you wouldn't have liked them so much..they would have been a worse tyre...that's why manufacturers spend millions on r and d.
@autovice4 жыл бұрын
@David Tebbit And money well spent on these tires in my opinion. You're right, what makes them so great is how nice they are on road, but it comes at the expense of being more aggressive. I just would have liked a more aggressive look, especially on the side wall. It would look great and have a little more bite on the side wall. Just my thoughts. Thanks for your comment!

I had these a few years ago on a Silverado 1500. Not sure if these are improved but hands down the worst tire I ever had. Absolutely could not keep them balanced and finally a mechanic friend saw I had a broken belt which the tire shop never found. Tread gone in 30k miles and 2 years use. The traction in mud was disappointing. Very prone to punctures, 3 were patched /plugged. These were truly the only bad experience I've ever had with any tires. Maybe I got a bad run or something.
@autovice5 жыл бұрын
@supperterofsanity Oh wow. That sucks. Mind if i ask? Did they honor the warranty on them?

I’ve been doing as much research as possible but, it’s narrowed down to these and Falken Wildpeaks. I’m leaning more towards these just because Road noise, snow and rain are my biggest needs. I feel these will be a little bit better then the falkens. Just a little bit. While the falkens would probably be a little bit better off-road.
@autovice5 жыл бұрын
@@whalehands Funny you should mention the falken wild peaks. I had a set of those on my silverado. They are good tires. They look a lot better than the geolanders. I didn't get a chance to take them off roading but i remember them doing well all around. My only gripe with the wild peaks is that they wore out fast on me.
@whalehands5 жыл бұрын
I got the Falkens. They were my second choice. I think they look better than the Yoko’s but, I was more worried about ride quality. But, the little town tire shop was trying to dick me around on price for them. Went from $607 to $780. Then when I said “nah bra, this is what you quoted me.”. He then started lowering the prices. I went to Walmart and they couldn’t even get the tires. So I just got the Falkens for $150 a piece. The service was good and fast. Have to get my alignment done before I have a premature wear again.
