As it must be already explained by now, kitsune means fox, and for the food, means deep fried tofu. No apparent connection here, but fox was considered as an avatar of Inari (god of harvest and business). Generally speaking, fox is carnivore, animal meat, however, wasn't really ideal offering in medieval Japanese mind (because you've gotta kill, and people were like 99% Buddhist). So a theory says people started presenting deep fried tofu as an offering, making substitution. Then today, say kitsune or inari and it's fried tofu. Not quite sure if it's entirely true though.

The food in Japan interests me. There's this dichotomy between highly processed convenience foods in exotic, seemingly kitschy flavors, and then the traditional, more culturally steeped standbys. The seafood, the soups, the traditional foods eaten with friends, family, coworkers...these things seem much more important there, Also, the drinking culture, which I'd love your guy's perspective on, seems so much more socially important than in America. Japan is wonderfully interesting!

The Fried Sesame Balls you ate in Chinatown were filled with adzuke Red beans. Normally you have three types of filling red beans, black sesame, or Lotus seeds. Nice you ate them fresh half the time they sit around during dim sum at a Cantonese Chinese restaurant on the carts being pushed around in a dinning hall, and it is always 3 per tray. Lotus seed filling is the best since it requires the most work in producing that filling :)

Vashawn Brown 1. We don't really have time for TV, but Kyde sometimes watches things from the states. I'm not sure what though, haha. 2. There is a specialty store for shoes in Tokyo I go to which is great, and I can get pants at Uniqlo. Shirts from anywhere fit me. Jackets are tough, I got one in the states when I was there a few months back. 3. Kyde has a Nexus 4, I have a Nexus 7. Neither of us have cell service, we just use WiFi when we have it. We each have unremarkable i5 based 14 inch laptops that work fine. 4. We like our new place a lot. -Eric

Hello from Brazil! I really enjoy watching you two (hmm kinda stalkerish thing to say -.-), you seem to be a really nice couple, like one really enjoy being with the other! Although some videos are really long, it is delightful to watch it and sometimes I have to stay alert so I don't get caught into the trap of watching one more hehehe. I do prefer to have one at time, at the time I come home from work, trying to relax and you two always make me laugh or smile while seeing you two going through new experiences (in this video I was trying to reach the tip of my nose with my tong as Eric does -.-) I would like to move to Japan, and I'm working on it (I work with IT stuff and studying Japanese so I can find a job there). It would be nice to meet you guys after I move there! Keep up with the good work on this channel, I really enjoy watching it!

Kyde and Eric Thanks for answering! Something I didn't say at the time I wrote you first time is that at that time I had a job offer already. Since I wrote you guys one month has passed, I have sent a lot of documentation to Japan, also the company which is trying to hire me gave the immigration a lot of documents and now these papers are being analyzed at the immigration office, they are going to say if it is ok for me to go or not and the answer seems to be close to come now. The interesting thing that I did not know at the time I wrote you two is that the city where I would go to to work and live is Yokohama, hahaha the same city of the video you two did! I really hope they are going to accept me there so I can move until the end of this month. It would be a huge dream becoming true for me. And also I could finally schedule to meet my favorite Internet video making couple XD! Again, I enjoy your work a lot! See ya guys!

Does every country have an elusive bill or coin? - I know I have a 2 dollar bill and a dollar coin somewhere....I kind of want to find a 2000-yen bill now, maybe one day I'll hunt one down. Also, a museum for cup noodles....I think I've seen it all now. Just goes to show how we sometimes take things for granted, I mean come on Cup Noodles are so simple you would never think they have an ENTIRE BUILDING dedicated to them. Very cool video guys, that trip was fun!

Oh funny thing; There's an offer in a magazine here for a 2 dollar bill that costs 2 dollars. I feel like I'm being ripped off PAYING FOR MONEY, when I'm really not....unless there's a hidden shipping cost, but you know.

In Austria (maybe in whole Europe..) the 200 Euro bill seems quite rate, I think I have seen one ONCE...not because of lack of money, but because ATMs just give out 2 100 Euro bills and never a 200 euro bill it seems. so maybe there is a rare bill in every currency indeed ;-P
