Yolanda, I have to tell you thank you for these videos. I have learned so much from you! We are in the beginning stages of starting a charity for a friend. "Dishcloths for Debra." She's a 60 year old quadriplegic in a nursing home from advanced MS. I drove 890 miles to meet her in person. Her situation is dire.The idea is to collect handmade cloths from all over the country & sell them for charity. We use the funds to get her help. The cloths don't have to be perfect and all are welcome.(con'td)

THANK YOU! Thank you for showing that you tie the yarns together on color changes. I always felt that I was doing it wrong. And thank you for showing how to do a rectangle granny! I am making an afghan for my God daughter and was thinking about making it as a rectangle. I don't know how it will come out as a rectangle instead of a square but I am willing to give it a try!

Checked your blog via the link, and didn't find anything about granny rectangles there (tried checking your archived posts & using the search function). Your starting proportions look close to what I'd need for making a car-seat-size baby blanket, though -- so I guess I'll just keep watching this video & take notes!

Approximately how many skeins of a regular sized yarn would I need for an afghan using this stitch, for a full sized mattress? My daughter has her 1st home & I'd like to make one for her but not sure how much to buy.
@lagirlzhot10 жыл бұрын
hmmm never enough yarn ! remember so I'd say you can get about 8 to 10 skeins , let me know

My "knit night" group often is asked to make "car seat" size baby blankets (22"x26") for local charities. I think I understand how to attach small granny squares in a strip to get a "starting rectangle" of the right proportions. However, using your method, what size starting chain would I need to get a granny rectangle of the right proportions for a 22"x26" car seat blanket? (I'm guessing that, when complete, such an afghan would be a multiple of 11 clusters wide by 13 clusters long -- is that right?)

@seagullrozen568710 жыл бұрын
thank you ! but i have a question, if you missed one dc in the 1st' row ... how is it that the "eyes" where enough? does that mean I have to change my count? and if i want to make the base longer? what are the multiples? and another q if you may in a regular granny square I usually us 2 for the bridge and 3 in the corner, or 1 for the bridge and 2 in the corner . I see you use 2 for both? is it just for this pattern or that's your method ? thank you Sea'
@allieg640110 жыл бұрын
i think the multiple is 5 - except for the ends so i'd just start with the 12 then for every cluster you want add 5. I tried to find the written pattern on her site but can't find it so basically i think multiples of 5 plus 2? i'm about to have a go will let you know how it goes. have you had a go at extending the base foundation chain?
