The fact that you gotta put down salt for the centipede deity means something very very big is going on in the spirit world. Makes sense too since it was the 'black hand' spirits being the one that took those salt away. Maybe Yokai deities are rampaging against one another, and the Centipede spirit protects the shopping center and lives at the shrine (hence you don't see much spirits within it's encirclement). Doing some googling: Bishamon(ten) is one of the seven gods of luck, the Centipede is his messenger.

Even as an Asian, if not Japanese, we wouldn't have a clue. I kind of know that half skinny thing with a building stomach though. It's the spirit of greedy people punished with insatiable hunger; they can eat, but cant swallow.

I like how Manly would get so excited by the animals he encounters he starts making animal calls (meow meow, cluck cluck). The monster designs are cool. It's neat seeing new ones in every area.

The best part is not all spirits & ghosts are to be feared. The little girl wanted to play, the centipede wanted the salt placed. Oh boy! Just finished Pocket Mirror and this was up! Also lol "Right is always right" "Let's go right first" 12:03. I looked it up and you can toss fishies to cats. Also this game makes me wonder about if it has multiple endings. It seems like it has potential to have a "Collect em all" ending. I'm half expecting there to be either a live or dead sister ending.

Apparently the japanese name of yomawari is 夜廻. Which is similar to 夜回り(yomawari) which means "night watch". As 回り can be written as 廻り. Also yokai is written as 妖怪(youkai) so yokai separation seems a bit off in my opinion. But I could be wrong though so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Manly. The game you're talking about it probably Muramasa: The Demon Blade. I remember it being full of yokai and one of the first bosses Kisuke fights are 2 giant centipedes. Or maybe it was one of Momohime's bosses. Don't quite remember.
