►About the Game -
YONESAWARA HOSPITAL is a single-player exploration horror game in the first-person perspective.
The game focuses on the search for the abandoned hospital "Yonesawara Hospital", and the hidden truth about the hospital is revealed by finding various clues.
Story
In 1978, the clinic went out of business due to the sudden disappearance of the director.
Ten years later, a phone call to an investigator sets the story in motion.
What happened to the director?
The investigator goes to the abandoned clinic to track down the disappearances that took place in the past.
Stage of the game
We created an abandoned clinic based on actual ruins based in Japan.
Exploration mode for those who are not good at horror games
We have implemented a ruin exploration mode with no horror elements at all, which can be played even by those who are not good at horror games.
You can explore the ruins in various situations such as in the morning, noon, and night.
You can use the camera function to take pictures of the ruins in the Exploration Mode.

the reason there isn't a room 4 is because in japan, 4 is seen as an unlucky number, because it can be pronounced the same way as "death" so alot of buildings and such won't have a 4th floor, they generally skip it all together, i hope it gives a little context

As someone who has had to run Japanese to English through an online translator on a regular basis… That's exactly what happened here. A lot of that was literal translation, which was why the syntax was so weird. They definitely didn't have anyone familiar w/ English grammar go over it before finishing.

Again I love it when a dev includes the option to just leave right at the beginning. It's even better when they really put some thought into it, like in past games where they have the protagonist be like "fuck it, someone else's problem" and they go on with their lives. Or like this game where they really got into the detective's head and showed how his choice really ended badly. Really shows the difference between indie devs and the big ones, you can just see the passion in their game where the big ones it's more a safe choice thing for maximum profit. lol Okay, I'm sounding like an activist, which I didn't mean to, but you get what I mean.

I'm _so_ pissed out!😶😆I wanted more bad translations. The game was okay; the hilarious text and your reactions were _great._ Yeah, there was no Room 4 because the Japanese view the number 4 as unlucky. Why? The kanji for the number 4 and for death are homophones--both are pronounced "shi." And, nobody wants to stay in the "death room"--especially in a hospital. 😅🤣

There was no room 4 because the number 4 is associated with death (4 can be said as “shi” which is also the word for death). CJU: I’ve got mixed feelings about this. Me: I don’t! It’s a bad idea! Also CJU: If you’ve stuck with me this far, stick with me a little bit longer. Me: No worries. You couldn’t get rid of me if you tried. This was a boatload of fun to watch. Hilarious because of the bad translations, and because of your wonderful commentary. Thank you for playing the whole game. A nice long video was greatly appreciated. Agreed with your conclusion Chris. This one was a bit more engaging to watch than Masagoro, even though it suffers from the same problem : it is too fucking long. The dev should really trim the fat off his games : maybe build smaller locations, maybe put a little less notes (I'm all up for lore and backstory, but I don't think we needed that much for a 90 to 120 minutes game). And yeah, it did seem tedious for you to have to do SO MUCH back-and-forth all over the place. The threat was a bit more serious in this game than in Masagoro, so that's good. All in all, not a bad game, and an improvement on Masagoro, but I'd love for the dev's next game to be a bit shorter.

Missed this when it was recorded. I just wanted to note one of the reasons why CJU is such a great horror player. Despite the terrible translation of much of the text in this game, he makes a few jokes about it and does his best to give us a clearer version of the translations. I really respect that.

It’s a superstition. The number 4 is considered a unlucky number because in Japanese 4 is sometimes can be pronounced as Shi which also means death . So due to that hospital and hotels often skip the number entirely.
