I would say the S is more user friendly, it feels quicker in the air too. Smash accuracy we haven't really tested but i would imagine the S would be better in this area too. However, for overall power the D probably contains the most potential, however, not many players will have the necessary technique or arm speed to release the potential of the D. The S is head heavy, actually all Astrox rackets are, but the D is more head heavy than the S.

Would like a suggestion for a racket, I was considering AX 77, 88S or 99 (4U) for an upgrade. Also, can 88S deliver back court game effectively? or should I look at Arcsaber series such as AS 7?? Appreciate any input and thanking you in anticipation.

As i have said on the Video's the Astrox rackets are very stiff and so unless you have a very strong and quick arm you will most likely not benefit from the performance - if you were to choose an Astrox i would go with the 77 4u. Overall i would recommend attending a demo day if possible or borrow a friends before committing to buy. I don't think it is, perhaps if you were able to generate real quick hand speed the Astrox 88D might be a little more powerful than the Zf2, on the whole the Zf2 is the easier racket to use particularly the 4u version. The Astrox 88d 4u is easier to handle than the 3u.

Well stiff rackets do offer good control, but these are too stiff for most players. They should make one type for professionals and another for the rest
@ThangHuynh105 жыл бұрын
Nathan you are saying the opposite. Double would need stiff racket for the instantaneous transfer of power due to the fast pace.... and most male professional players who have lots of power and good technique would prefer stiff racket regardless of double or single.

What is the difference b/w HK code & AS code..??
@badmintonracketreview28146 жыл бұрын
They represent where the racket is being sold, the idea is to test rackets with different countries codes and see what the specification difference is like.
@Edsternoble66 жыл бұрын
The coding is not where the racquet is made. It represents the market designation (asia/hongkong/japan etc). High end Yonex racquets have 'Japan' printed on the cap (meaning racquet is manufactured in Japan), whereas cheaper Yonex racquets are usually made in either China or Taiwan and usually has either 'China' or 'Taiwan' printed very finely on the shaft.

Hi, we tested 3 88D's and 3 88's all of them with the exception of one had very similar stiffness readings, which is definitely very stiff. The problem in comparing the stiffness with other sources is, our test isolates just the shaft for stiffness, quite a lot of manufacturers measure the stiffness from the top of the racket head to the bottom of the handle, so its like doing two different tests, which will naturally produce two different results.

@mobsterpenguin60325 жыл бұрын
pradhikshan R You can use the 88s for singles. I use the 3U version for singles (4u is too light for this racket). This racket is amazing in the front court, especially with net play and drives. Even though this racket is advertised for front court play, it actually does really well in the back as well. The smashes are quite fast, clears are fairly effortless, and the drops are precise. I don't have the 88D and im curious about your thoughts on the racket. Was it too heavy? Did your arm get tired from swinging?
@Scienceworld_RP5 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for your comment bro. That means you are currently using astrox88s it really does in singles. But can it help to some more attacking play? I less prefer 88d because it is a little bit less speed in defense
@mobsterpenguin60325 жыл бұрын
pradhikshan R Yes this racket is amazing for an agressive attacking style. Its speed is incredible in the front court area. Defense is really good for a slightly head heavy racket, probably cuz of the Rotational Generator System. The smash speed is fast but you might need to put some effort depending on your technique. The 88s is predominately for the front court or skill type player, but you can use it for anything. However, I feel that this is aimed for more advanced players, so make sure your technique is refined and you will get the maximum potential from this racket.
