Do you not think that the VCore 98 felt very cheap? I did feel like its plush but I thought it was SUPER SUPER unstable on most high swing speed shots from the baseline. I wanna hear ur thoughts on VCore 95 2023. Also, wanna play me in a match? :)

I’m using the Wilson Shift 300. It reminds me a lot the Extreme Tour Graphene but has better feel and flex and is more arm friendly. It’s what the new Extreme Tour should have been. I’ve used it only 3 times but I’m liking it.

I also use shift and vcore 100. I get more power using vcore, but it felt so stiff and head heavy, hard to hit volley. Wilson shift is so much easier to use. I’m so confused why so many reviewers endorse vcore more than shift

Upgraded to the 100 ‘23 from the ‘21. Better feel, don’t need to swing as fast, and loads of spin, power, and control. Strung with PTFire at 43lbs, PTDrive at 43lbs (can go lower as you have to provide the power to get power), and PTPro at 47lbs, and spot on with other specs. Swing weight depends on string and all of those strings ranged from 323-329. Agree with this review.

Omg how much I love all your videos! So insightful and the play test images were fantastic. One quick question, I’m currently in between the pure aero 98 and vcore 98. Kind of sending the former as a more “heavy weapon” but the latter does more stuff better, wondering what your opinion is on comparing the two?
@TennCom

I haven't tried the new 98, but I think you should go with the one that compliments you strength the most. For example, if you forehand is you best shot, choose the racquet which gives you the most confidence in your most important shot.

Lost a lot of muscle mass on top, can not handle my PS 97 315, v13 with 53 lbs copoly anymore I need comfort and a bit of power now but I am hesitant with the maneuverability of the 100s. I played very briefly and enjoyed the Ezone 2022 98 as well as the Vcore 100 2023. The control from the PS 97 is unparalleled in my opinion but now I need that extra push and tenderness. Ant thoughts? All the best to you

Thanks! The VCORE series if certainly more comfortable than the EZONEs. The VC100 doesn't offer the control you probably want, so I would look at the VCORE Pro 100. Its kind of in between the specs of most 100s and 98s. Bigger head, thinner beam than other 100s which should help you with the control you've been missing from your Prostaff.

If you care about improving your tennis, I don't think you should. Its hard to improve your game when you have to think about adjusting to a new racquet. If you just like to have fun with different racquets, I think the VC100 is very fun to hit with and will give you a much more spin oriented experience than the EZ100. Its a lot easier to hit those loopy shots that explode off the baseline with spin when using the VC100.

The 2023 Vcore 100 is just so easy to pick up and play. It plays very much like my 2021 Vcore Pro 100 because of the reduced stiffness. However, as you said, you can swing the Vcore with reckless abandon and the ball will still drop in. The frame just moves through the air much faster than the Vcore Pro. Your review really matches my experience. Sometimes I do prefer the Pro if I don't want to swing too hard. So are you gonna switch to the ninety-ei-

Vcore is really fast and spinny but it's very easy to sail the ball long as it is not so controlable. On the other hand vcore pro is really reliable and super control and accuracy but I sometimes struggle to produce spin and response to harder shots... What would you suggest to a intermediate player with one handed backhand playing on clay? 😊

Chose the racquet which extenuates your strengths as a player. Go with the one that helps you play your game. If you look at the racquets of the GOATS (Roger, Rafa, Nole, Serena) their racquet setups are all based around their strengths as players, with the idea that they'll win more points with their strengths than they would lose with their weaknesses.

Great review, and very interesting. I used the last gen VCore 98 for a little while and grew to hate it. It was incredibly disconnected from the ball --- vague is the word I would probably choose --- and its spin potential was pretty bad. (Far worse than the Extreme Tour, for example.) I really wondered how anyone could even consider it a spin racket. To make matters worse, it is the only racket I've ever used to give me tennis elbow; off-center shots on the prior VCore were terrible, with its very stiff hoop. It's interesting to hear that perhaps the latest gen fixes these problems in the 98. More comfortable, and better spin? More connected? Sounds too good to be true, but I'll have to give it a try.

I think you should stick with you current setup as-is. I know its irritating to have your string move around, but polyester strings will risk tennis elbow and wrist injury at your level. For your tennis' sake, I recommend trying to find that extra spin within your technique to get the extra control you need. @TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
For me, it’s how I describe what kind of vibrations I’m experiencing. Responsive would mean you can feel the vibrations coming through the racquets. Muted means you can’t feel them as much. I’d call racquets like the Prostaff 97, Extreme Tour and Radical line responsive, whereas the Gravity series, EZone 98 and Pure Drive feel more muted. I’d also call ALU Power responsive and Hyper G muted.

What would you say if you compare vcore 100 with ezone 100 2022?
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
I would say that the EZONE is more stable and powerful, but less spin. Control is similar, but the EZONE probably has a more predictable stringbed. VCORE feels much more plush and the EZONE feels more firm and responsive. I don't think either is a clear winner, as it really depends on your game. For spin players, VCORE all the way, for flat hitters, EZONE all the way.

I've played with both racquets, and after extensive testing, I decided on the vcore 100. However, since the purchase, I feel like I'm having a hard time finding the right tension that would allow me to have adequate ball control. I had a hyper g 1.20 mm (complete lack of control) and now I have a yonex poly tour pro 1.25 mm 25 kg (I had it during testing and it seemed ok) and I also seem to lack control. What tension do you recommend, noting that I sometimes have problems with my arm and wrist as I have too stiff a tension?

On the other hand, 95 being nearly as big as 98 (I had to check each time the name of the one I grabbed; they have nearly same headsize and shape) it's more precise, still topspin friendly, way more stable than 98 but not as agile as well. My racquets of the last 30 years were all 98, I guess I can never switch to anything different. The power level can easily go up quite a bit, because all testers are telling me that the real Yonex magic happens at low tensions. And so I never tried firm strings, probably never will.
