Thanks so much for this vid. just done mine for use with an a99 and a a few 560-iii`s haven`t tested sync speed yet, but glad i can at least do off camera flash without spending a fortune.

worked for me! Worked with YN560 III. Used 120k resistor. A smaller resistor would work but would allow more power to go through draining battery faster.

Thanks for this great vid. I did this mod on RF603C (Canon) for my Sony a65. Works quiet well. Thanks again!

Thanks for the post, just modded two RF603N's (for my A77 and A99), used 120K ohm resistors. Using them with the built in radio triggers in the YN-560 IIIs - only getting sync at 1/160 sec (otherwise I see a black bar at the top of the frame) - also had to do the "slide back a bit" trick on the A99.

Thank you very much! I used RF-603C ( Canon ) with 120k / 0.125W, Yn 560 mk III as reciever and Sony a99. It works perfectly! Just for the record: 0.6W for 120k is enormous! I used 0.125W. It is enough.

hi, i confirm that this mod works on omd em 10 mark 2. no need to cut wires just I just solder s 100ohm resistor as shown. Thanks It saved me buying new triggers. Noted I used the yn rf603N 2 as shown on this video. I did borrow a friends yn rf603N 3 and it works without modification on my camera.
@ParalysedGekko11 жыл бұрын
I did that mod exactly the way you described it and it works...IF i don't slide the transmitter FULLY into the Sony/Minolta-Adapter. I figured out that it is not the adapter itself that causes the trouble. And the problem is reconstructible with any rf-603 that i own. On the external connector of the transceiver you see 4 small pins & a solid square metal plate, the connector itself. If you bridge the lonely pin & the plate, the SEND-led goes off. So, if put fully on the adapter, it's the same.

Thanks for uploading this video. I found it very interesting and helpful, I too am going to buy the a77. And also want some off camera flash lighting that I can afford, the Yonguno YN 560 II/III look very good value. And manual flash would probably be better for off camera anyway. I noticed that you did noy buy the flash that has the sony hotshoe, so does it matter if I buy the Yonguno with Cannon or Nikon fit? Thanks, Glen.

It works very well, I have made a nikon and a canon version, both work outstanding, but the canon fits better on top of your A99, so i'd recommend the canon version

Thanks a lot! Awesome. Obviously it works with most standard hotshoe, not only with sony SLT+minolta adapter. Tested without flash with my Nex3(with chinese adapter) and mechanical film camera. Also I hear thats rf603N doesn't work on samsung NX and m4/3 systems, so it may help to.

Hi, this is a great, simple to follow video. Thank you! I have a slightly different requirement. I need to connect the 603 to my camera's PC sync port as I need the ETTL port for my canon 600EX-RT to transmit to other 600EX-RTs. Unfortunately, these won't work when the flash transmitter is between the flash and the camera. The flash can only work in solo manual mode. So, Can I use a hotshoe PC sync adaptor? Will that trigger a modified 603? Thanks!

This method works with 603c (first version) for Canon and Sony a7III. But in my case only for a short time. Now when I plug the trigger to a hot shoe one of two green lights turns off. But when I unplug it from hot shoe it works great, both green lights turn on and I can make a test flash with my Canon Speedlite 580EXII pressing the key on modified trigger. Maybe someone know what could it be and how to solve this problem?

Hi designer2k2, thanks for the video. I tried my Sony A58 with an unmodified 603N and it didn't work, as you showed. But they have come out with a version 2 of the 603's that has put the on/off button on the side plus fixed it so it will work with other brands of camera like Pentax/Sony/Fuji. For us that don't know how to solder, they might be just what the doctor ordered and on Amazon are only a few bucks more than the original version 1's.

will the battery drains faster since the transmitter and receivers are always in active mode?
@designer2k210 жыл бұрын
yes it will drain your battery´s a bit faster. but now over a year later i cannot realy see a difference in my moded vs unmodded RF´s in terms of battery life. just for the maths its 3V and 130kOhms what results in 0,02mA. Thats about nothing ;)

@designer2k210 жыл бұрын
@christophkalus950310 жыл бұрын

Sony was stupid to use a non-standard hot shoe. This whole mess is a good reason to avoid Sony which otherwise makes some very nice camera's
