thanks, part two is actually complete, i just have to get 5 min to edit it together and get it posted, works hectic at min so taking priority over the channel but i have a quiet period coming up soon so i will get back to putting vids up, glad it was usefull for ya, and yes im left handed but my strongest hand is my right :)

yeah absolutley right the lense is still 50mm so set the flash at the as its the sensor that crops in so that would be the right settings, that said you can experiment at different zoom setting as it changes the light the flash outputs so different effects can be achieved so there is no right setting just what you need for the job at hand and light requirements.

I know this flash works with the YN RF603 remote with my entry level canon 550D. But google around and you should find out. I heard that the YN RF603 remote has different versions for canon and nikon so you would need the nikon type. But before you try that, I would recommend the flashs' optical slave option. It works very well and recognizes your cameras inbuilt flash even if you turn the inbuilt flash to the lowest power.

hi jamie, yes these would work bear in mind there manual only so no iTTL on your canon camera, which isnt a bad thing, if you want ease of use there is a TTL version for twice the price, as for triggers any wireless trigger will do see my review of the yongnuo ones, you can also trigger with pop up flash as well.

there is no doubt canon 580ex is better than this flash but as a beginer getting into flash/strobist you cant go wrong really it does the job for very little money i have 3 sb900 nikon flashed and i own 3 of these yongnuo flashes there no frills manual only but thats all i bought them foor they will serve you well
@OrangeBoxPhoto
@OrangeBoxPhoto 12 жыл бұрын
hi buzz no you don't need a wireless trigger you can use your built in flash to trigger the yongnuo flash, put your built in flash in commander mode and set the speedlight flash to S2 mode and when you fire your camera the flash will fire as well.

thankyou glad it was of some use to you

oh and using the sensor on the flash is limited to line of sight where as radio triggers are not which means you can put your flashes anywhere you like.

if money isnt an issue i would get the TTL version as will make your life alot easier when managing exposures as TTL will keep it pretty well balanced, yn-560 is manual only so takes time and practice to get right.

i have had them a while now and to be honest for how cheap they are ive been very impressed with them they are basic but do the job nicely, you do get occasional misfire but they are few and far between

I'm a film shooter using Rolleiflex TLR. I'm getting together a Strobist kit and already have 1 SB-24 Nikon flash with PaulBuff Cybersync radio triggers. The second light is an older Sunpak 544. Should I finish getting Sunpak together? Or invest in this flash. The Sunpak is a beast and you goggle it about output. Great review.

as far as i know they don't as they run on a different frequency yongnuo ones run on 2.4ghz frequency and if i remember rightly pocket wizards are 433 or 344 ghz depending on country of origin so they wouldn't trigger each other as on wrong frequency

Actually disregard what I said about the popup flash, nikon D5100 doesn't have that commander mode so it wouldn't work apparently. I would go with the remotes

I can use it as a slave with my D3000, use the pop up flash to trigger it or buy a couple of youngnuo RF 603, cheap but work well

the sensor on the flash is not perfect and is limited by distance and bright light aka sunlight however they are pretty good way to trigger your flash and cheaper! in most cases "radio triggers" are not essential there just easier tbh.

Is "Yongnuo YN-560 II" just ready to go when mounted on Nikon D3100, or you need to attach some cable between camera and flash?

Hey, has the flash worked fine on the D5100? I have one and I'm thinking on buying a YN560-II. Tell me your thoughts on it.
@OrangeBoxPhoto
@OrangeBoxPhoto 12 жыл бұрын
yeah it would the flash is generic as its only a manual flash, as there's no TTL in the flash, the camera brand doesn't matter.

hey, just bought a YN560. i have a d5100 and i am wondering if i should zoom the head to 50mm or 35mm for my 35mm 1.8? because it's a cropped sensor i'd imagine leave it at 50mm, but just thought I'd ask.

I have an Olympus E520, its flash synchronization speed is 1/180 only, Yongnuo 560Mark II has flash synchronization of 1/200 - 1/2000. Question, can I use the YN560 II on my Olympus E520?
