I love this song so much that I watched an AKB documentary.
Yeah. I did that. And I might watch another.
What IT’S GOOD OKAY.
So as most of you know, this is the sequel to Sarishinohara
and is inspired by an AKB48 member's relationship with a man.
Which is totally against their rules and ends in possible expulsion plus a public apology for basically having a vag- ah nothing. Anyway, it’s a romanticized version of the story it’s based on but it really does bring up some interesting questions regarding love, fulfillment, dreams, and measuring sacrifices. It all makes for good drama in the end (mmm) so, if you’re interested, here’s the manga adaption~

i think..., this song might be about a girl, who wanted to become a popular idol. she was motivated by the boy in the pv-- but then was unable to spend time with him due to the strict rules that idols had to abide by. (note: i'm pretty sure a lot of japanese idol agencies have a rule where you can't spend time in public with anyone that could be a possible love interest and be in a relationship. it's like a love ban for idols because they're "married to their fans".) Then she saw him in the crowd and tried to reach out to him, crying out on stage. she ended up just faking smiles on stage as he was carried away by security. their love was torn apart by her dream and fame, she realized in the end.

For all of you that don't know, Japanese Idols aren't allowed to fall in love. She fell in love with the sunflower guy, and she's been sending him letters since they can't talk much. Someone from her company found out, her boss got a hold of her letter, she got in trouble, then the rest of the story. (I'm not explaining everything but I suppose this much helps)

The thing is , most j-pop stars lose all control of their life when entering the contract same with k-pop stars. They can't have relationships , they have certain people they have to be nice towards even if the despise them , they have to dress certain ways and keep up certain images.

Well the story behind this is actually a true one about a girl in a band ( sorry I don't remember the bands name :c ) and the boy sent nude pictures of her to the tabloids and she got fired over it. So as much as she wants to be with him he's hurt her to much to forgive him.(hope this helped)

Has anyone ever noticed that in the photo-shooting session with her, the guy with glasses wasn't wearing glasses and was taking photos with her? :P I've seen him back in 2014 in the video, but didn't actually know who he exactly was since he wasn't wearing glasses (he looked like him, which made it odd for me, but wasn't wearing glasses, so I was somewhat puzzled). I read the manga (only 2 chapters of it on Kissmanga since the actual link provided in the description doesn't work...), and was able to truly connect the vague points when I read to the end of the second chapter, where the band member with long-ish hair and glasses spoke to him). Edit: In conclusion, the boy is also in a band (and somewhat an idol). :P Oh, and to further support, since he was associated with the band member with long-ish hair and glasses, he could only be the new member and lead singer (from what I read in the manga), since if he wasn't and was an original member (unless another member after the main female character was replaced), she would have known him immediately. At the time when he showed up at that photo-shooting session (as well as when she was putting the mail into the box alone in the scene before, though she didn't see him) she probably couldn't have recognized him due to a different appearance (make up might also have been applied... since it is a photo-shooting session).
