I think there’s a reason why Gyeo-ul said he should show affection to her everyday. Maybe she grew up in an abusive household where her dad was abusing her mom. During the call, she constantly asked if her parents fought and when Jeogwon asked “ Is there something you are not telling me?”, she hesitated and said no. That will explain her cold behavior too.

I think we all misinterpreted this conversation, coz ShinLee don't create a scene just for the sake of it; everything has a meaningful impact on the future !! The question here should not be 'what' GU said to JW. The question is 'why' did she say she wants affection, IMMEDIATELY after JW asks her to tell him if anything happens. She KNEW she might loose him if she revealed her family problems. She KNEW he might no more love her and she is scared. Jeongwon is like pouring all of the (romantic) love that piles up in him from all the time he don’t think he’ll ever love someone like this. Ahh lucky Gyeoul basking in the overflowing care and attention.. it is also so lovely that Gyeoul character is a bit straightforward and emotionless.. it made her look shy and awkward to receive all the love from Jeongwon but more than anyone she appreciates it and never take Jeongwon’s love for granted. Perfect match ❤️
