Great video! When the game was announced, I fell into the same camp as a lot of people: game looked interesting, but fell under the radar. When Epic gave it out for free during the holidays, I was able to pick it up and it turned out to be a really solid platformer. It's a shame this game didn't get as much attention as the original, hopefully Playtonic continues to push this game and develop the series further.

I loved the video, man! I was actually a huge fan of the original Yooka ( even with all of its flaws because I'm a retro 3D platforming fanboi), and when I first saw the gameplay footage of Impossible lair, I was like "Oh no, it's not a 3D platformer anymore!". But I've been hearing nothing but good things about it and after seeing this, I'm definitely going to pick it up. Especially, as you said, I want Playtonic to thrive.

Thanks! I kinda had a similar reaction to be honest, but I quickly moved away from that because I realized it's probably better if Playtonic takes on something simpler for now. Still really hope we get Tooka-Laylee eventually.

I’m sure some crazy speedrunner type bought this game with the intention to complete the impossible lair with no bees on day one (and probably succeeded)

Great review! I've been playing the demo but haven't bought the game yet. Now that I'm forced to be a shut-in bc of coronav*rus I'll give it a go!
