Selecting "I'll do it myself!" would bring up some sort of prompt like; "Are you sure? It'd be much easier to get through it with the Beetallion at your back. -Yes! I can do it! -I'm not sure..." Same. I also regret skipping Yooka-Laylee when it first came out! It was one of the Xbox Gold games this month fortunately and I'm super happy I got to finally play it. Loved it and can't believe such a great game got so much backlash. People are weird. I played Impossible Lair first though and yeah, it's the even better game. A masterpiece, only outclassed in the genre by Tropical Freeze (which I personally think is the greatest 2D platformer of all time).

Hey Jirard, did you know that Wise only did like 6 tracks, Grant did the overworld variations BUT 75% of the soundtrack was made by the new sound guys at Playtonic? They're Matt Griffin and Dan Murdoch. At lease give them some credit by mentioning their names man, they did an absolutely stellar job on this and made by far the most tunes for the soundtrack!

The hate bandwagon for the first game got way out of hand, so I'm glad they didn't give up on the series. I thought the first game was great, and this one is too. Loving it. (I'd be willing to bet that most of the people that are still spewing hate over the first game never even played it... or they're just JonTron fanboys).

THEY HAD NO BUSINESS REMOVING JONTRONS VOICE JUST BECAUSE HE STUCK UP FOR WHITE PEOPLE
@huntercrunch945 жыл бұрын
PDIcomics I sincerely hope you’re joking.... if so, joke’s on me... but I’ll bite anyway. I fail to see how what he said was “sticking up for white people”. White people don’t need to be defended in the first place. He was just parroting white nationalist rhetoric. But I’ll be clear here. I don’t think JonTron is racist. I watched the interview where he said what he did, and in context it seemed to me like he was put on the spot with some questions almost poised to make him say something offensive. That being said, Playtonic was, at the time, a brand new first time developer. It was very understandable from a business standpoint why they didn’t want to be associated with someone who said the things he did. From what I understand, even JonTron understood why they removed his voice from the game. Also, he was making garbled noises voicing a character in a porta potty. Who cares?

The Impossible Lair reminds me of the Temple of the Ocean King from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It's this big central challenge that you can push your way through at any time or go explore to find things to help you progress. Unlike the Lair, the Temple isn't meant to be done over a single attempt. You just need to be efficient enough to unlock the next shortcut before time runs out.
