After using a few other brands of ir’s, I stumbled on York audio and have never looked back. They have changed the game for me, basically I just want to share the love for York Audio. Words can’t describe the feeling of having a great sound live!

York Audio IRs are just... phenomenal. Can't pick any other word. Paired some Mesa 4x12 Trad ones with Mercruiall Reaxis and the result is fantastic. Thick and crispy at the same time, but without overly pronounced lows and highs as you may usually get with some other IRs.

Thanks for doing this video! I own a pile of Ownhammer and Celestion IRs, so my interests are in the ones that are way different from what I already have. So for me its the Hiwatt (holy cow this one rocks), the Marshall G12T75 (the Celestion G12T75 IR pretty much sucks, but this one sounds like the real cab) and the Matchless 2x12. Absolutely love all three of them. Also love the sound of the stock IRs.

Maybe next time try to use same "mix" for each cab, which york audio creates for every cab? That way you could eliminate variation caused by different mics and mic placements. Great stuff, keep it up! 🤘

Thank you! Yeah, I thought about it (it would have made recording a lot easier) but I felt like I was getting better tones by picking single mics that complemented the amp and settings best. There's always going to be variation no matter what, since Justin doesn't capture the same positions for each 'number', it's basically a set of five sweet spots for each mic that get used in the mixes. Will keep it in mind if I ever decide to make another shootout though (at this point, probably on another channel).

What are your top 3 irs

Personally I would say Zilla, Friedman and Vibrolux, but everyone would give you a different answer. The Marshall MV30 and the Creamback are big hits over on The Gear Page (they both play well with the Strymon Iridium from what I've heard), I think they're good but there's other packs with a lot more zing and character. Can't really go wrong with any of them if you like what you hear.

Depends a lot on the type of music I'm working on. I usually use single mics instead of mixes since it gives me a lot more control, but others prefer the simplicity of the mixes. The ones I use in the video are the single mic IR's that sounded best to me with that specific amp setup. In general though, I like mixing a 421 and 57 for a sharp aggressive sound. The 414 and U87 IR's can be nice too in a few of the packs if I need a condenser. The Creamback is the York M65 212.

Good demo but your chapter titles are a bit...irritating to say the least. "High gain" wasn't high gain und "Thrash" wasn't thrash at all. York Audio IRs are the best, like them a lot!
