thanks Cara, yes the main beaches give us heeby jeebies! they are all rammed like sardines. i can understand it from the families that might want to socialise with others but at least half of them are trying desperately to carve out a niche for their own family unit. just go to the next beach along..

What amazing JBP free beaches! This is beach heaven 😇 So good to have visuals of Nick & Jill in the film, they never disappoint. Stupendous Gate Of The Week. Would always recommend ATS’s footwear on beach and slippery rocks. Talking of which, the rock pooling looked outstanding. An official Jilly rating is required for all UK beaches. Nicolas as a still’s photographer just can’t be equalled, perfection is his trade mark. Never understood the three various words associated with free parking but of course I’ve never experienced free parking. Totally brilliant 4K film and it gets a FIVE STAR RATING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

thank you so much Mike, being heathens from the dark ages we don’t understand what three words either but they have replaced longitude and latitude at every level to finding a location. some “genius” came up with the unique three word location finding idea about a decade ago and every emergency service and sat nav uses it now. we don’t have that smart technology (yet) but we know everyone requires a what three words for a place so we provide it after the fact. our footwear on the day was unforgivable, i can imagine my membership to the Micky Grylls School of outdoors being revoked with the silly chances we took on this film! all day free parking but then in the few paid spots we walked the extra mile and ascended a few thousand foot to get it. such cheapskates! we were exhausted at the end of it! have an awesome weekend!

So many lovely beaches along the Yorkshire coast...several of these i am yet to visit...What an amazing sky you had at many of these spots, perfect for the photographer, especially at sunset....BTW..here are the main causes of holes in rocks. Trapped gas bubbles during the rock solidification. Weathered and worn away soft minerals in the hard matrix. Boring and burrowing living organisms like mollusks, worms, and sponges..cheers folks

wow thats amazing Steven, those are incredible reasons! it’s definitely a photographers delight on those beaches. with a better camera i could occupy myself all day on close up work and landscape shots. there was a black cloud that followed us around all day. it was ahead of us at one point and then because of the miles between beaches we would overtake it, only for it to catch up mid section. i have about an hours footage, on the cutting room floor, of me shaking my fist at it and ranting about the British Summer. On a few of the beaches the cloud toyed with us just to delay us getting to the next beach. id be waiting for a shot with the sun peaking out from behind the cloud and the cloud refused to move for ages! it was a real bane that day, but in all fairness it was probably one of only three days it hasn’t rained all summer, the other one was In Nidderdale! 👍

It’s a lovely area of the country and we want to visit! We’re hoping to manage a weekend very soon. Love a questionable pathway! Love the pill boxes, we’ve a fair few here. Osgodby is a stunning beach. 10 beaches in a day - fair play!!! Love skimming stones - sadly I’m rubbish at it! Love those beaches where people gather by the carpark entrance - you walk 5 mins and you’re alone! Wow that water in the cave - stunning! Great Viking impression! Power to you two - 10 beaches in a day! Those clouds are stunning. My nightmare a field of cows!! No way would I walk through there! Speeton beach is amazing!!! So beautiful. We might have to do a hidden coves of wales - we have plenty too!! Loved this guys 🍻

hidden coves of Wales, yes! well you have done a few, that have stuck in our memory so probably helped in the lead up to this. the August edition of Yorkshire Life had hidden beach coves on their cover so i thought it was timely. sadly we had to wait two weeks for the tide times to be right to do this and this probably has landed a little bit too late to be useful! judging by the millions on Scarborough’s main beach today nobody saw this video 😂 this was our most exhausting video yet, until this weeks! we are not sure how you guys do it, this level of vlogging is absolutely exhausting. My Saturday nights after filming are now me crashed out on the floor a complete wreck! you guys set an incredible bar with your passion, content and adventure, well done! i can’t ever watch that ten coves in a day video, it exhausts me. the one im editing for this friday, the same! when will it all end? 😂😂♥️ 🍻

I have to say Nick & Jilly that this vlog was absolutely fantastic. The amount of research you have put into it, too, must have been immense. Not only did you show us beautiful beaches, W3W (which people can use to navigate straight to each beach), costs for parking, the quality of each beach, accessibility, the trek to and from, as well as up and down but also you found a beautiful Mermaid on Cloughton Wyke Beach. Did you manage to catch her Nick? I loved the old Pill Box, too. You didn't comment on any smell, but as Pill Boxes go, that looked really clean. There was only a bit of graffiti visible, too (😪🤬). It was definitely an exhausting day for you both. You must have climbed hundreds of stairs too and all between one full tide. Thank you so much for sharing, I really enjoyed this vlog. Amazing.

beautiful mermaid xx thanks Chris 🙏 well apparently nobody watched this video, to be fair i should have got it out at the start of the holidays, not the end, but the tide really wasn’t in our favour on previous weeks. really needed to catch it in the North, early at low tide and race South trying to keep ahead of it. every few miles means a difference of about twenty minutes of low tide. each segment took an hour plus to film and longer to drive from and to. by the time we got to the ones furthest South the tide was completely in! thank you so much Chris. this felt like a fools endeavour, to get free parking the first one we filmed was a 700ft descent and ascent with a five mile hike! in mid 20s heat we had serious doubts about the rest of the day. by the last few we were completely delirious. very memorable day though! 👍

thats a good point Dave, i bet it could be the cows and those scary “bull in field” signs! 😂 they were very placid when we walked through, could have sat and chatted to them although I didn’t want to share the flies with them! we did spot a family with a noisy dog on a lead pass through after us, the cows looked slightly more concerned but didn’t bother to get up! i just hope it gets the attention of even one family visiting now or the next week so that they can find a real retreat from the busiest ive ever seen the main beaches! hope your having an awesome weekend. off to Lincoln for the very first time today! ♥️🚐

Stunning scenery and that last beach was really gorgeous, worth the walk and risking an encounter with a bull! The free parking in some of these places is great too. I visited 2 (admittedly very popular beaches in Norfolk) during June's beautiful weather and was appalled at how expensive parking was! Wells next Sea, if you wanted to park next to the sea was 5 pounds and Holkham Beach was 10 pounds!!!! That was the fee for the day but being people who live in Australia (you don't venture onto a beach until 3 in the afternoon because the sun is so intense) getting to the beach later in the afternoon, spending 10 pounds for a couple of hours parking was extortionist!

It was really good to see what is up in Yorkshire and I loved Cornelian Bay with its pillbox, and nice you can see Scarborough from there too. We have these hidden coves here in North Wales too which us locals try to keep to ourselves🤭 South Landing is lovely too along with Crookness, no wonder the Victorians stole some rocks from there ! It's so good that all around here you have these lovely hidden coves that appear through forests and jungles hehe and show things like pillboxes and shipwrecks and It's great that its a hot day in the school holidays and it's quiet in these places ! So so beautiful, these are where we would go instead of the busy places ! Great look around ~Anna ❤👍

Thanks so much Anna, yes it really does baffle me that the families go to the busy beaches in droves, i cant believe that they all want to be down there to mingle with all the other people, its not just families on the main beaches there are hens, stags, groups of lads, all harmless enough, but its not a place id want to take a family too! Just hope we got this video out in time with enough of the School Holiday left that some families might find a new place to visit on their holidays that they fall in love with. The top three on my list really charmed me. I plan to be visiting those a lot more frequently and maybe even chill out there and create some great memories. Hope your having an awesome weekend. Hi Nick and Jill. OMG ,how beautiful is the sky and the sea.. I agree with Jill that I recommend PPL to wear water shoes with good grips. Wow, I have been learning historic Pillboxes that are quite impressive. Many have protected the UK coastlines. Sadly many are vandalized though. Is there a map for pillbox sites in the UK? Because of the landscape, it is a hidden spot to enjoy yourselves.. Great tips for visitors to make a plan. well done! Thank you for another successful series of travel guide. we really messed up with our footwear, very foolish! id wear hiking boots on any future visit! thats a good question about the map for pill boxes. there possibly is. a lot have been vandalised or fallen off cliffs. we got lucky with the few we saw. thank you so much for incredible support. hope you have a great weekend ♥️♥️

Cool to see some of the lesser known places. It was amazing to see the WWII stuff at the beach. It's still a little weird to see that you can just walk through a paddock where there are animals. I would have found a way around it.

A lot of people have been concerned about the cows and bulls! they seemed very chilled out! i think there was a field two over that you could have got to the same destination! i would have thought the pillboxes might be sealed off so it was nice to have a look inside! have an awesome weekend!

Who do you think you are kidding Mr. Hitler, If you think we're on the run? 🎶 i have to admit there was a lot of footage on the cutting room floor re the pill boxes. my attitude was very much Dads Army, in the end i thought i best cut them, although the sentiments were well and truly there. it seems criminal that vast stretches of sandy beaches are getting completely overlooked at the height of the British Summer, i hope that gets rectified soon. i wouldn’t be disappointed if on my next visit they were rammed as a result of this video. but more likely they will stay just as secret, save for a couple of skinny dippers! hope your having an awesome week ♥️ 🇦🇺

LOL gate of the week :o). Not good for Mrs Metalman and her walking sandals I think but so many places I have never heard of before never mind visited. Must be perfectly honest and say I think those WW2 are a blot on the landscape and a magnet for drunken people and people who need a wee. I used to love taking the kids rock pooling when they were little and as well as some real rocky beaches there were some crackers as well, amazingly sandy. Loved all the singing and swooned at the bikini footage, defiantly Miss Scarborough 2023! I bet that water was cold mind and yes I bet it was exhausting with all those ups and downs and loved the white chalky stones towards the end. very brave going passed the cows and ....a bull! The 'Laura' beach was stunning at the end and so quiet too, shame there was a sad tale attached to such a wonderful beach but nice the hands were saved. Very interesting watch, cheers Alan

Mrs Metalman will be ok as long as it is sandals and not flippityflops! im not sure how Jill comes out with these things but this epic scramble to cover so many beaches and outrun the tide in one day has made me love her more than ever. i can safely say from the first beach we visited way up to the North at low tide we both knew this was a fools idea. did she bat an eyelid? not once. possibly the most exhausting day i can ever remember but wow, what great fun and memories. we were both delirious by the time we got to Danes Dyke. Miss Scarborough 2023! yes xx although i think a recent Mrs Scarborough competition, they still happen, made the national news as a runner up ran on stage and grabbed the trophy off the winner, true story! the cows were lovely, we stopped to watch a barky dog pass through that field after us and the cows and bulls were still pretty chilled even though the owner didn’t pick it up! the Laura Beach was definitely our favourite (speeton sands). we feel we need a day off to recover from that day filming. it will be there that we head first! magical and possibly unforgivable that it isn’t getting the attention it deserves..

Wow wow wow I absolutely loved this from beginning to end , often rewinding to watch parts again. While I love being in the mountains, the sea definitely has a calling for me so these deserted beaches were definitely up my street haha if that's not too much of a contradiction 😃 I kept thinking "oh yes this is my favourite' then "oh no is this one or this one" I really couldn't decide, each and every one having it's own character and if I lived closer would never be away from them though most likely in winter in me wellies 😁 Fave bits ... Nick's still shots, Jill being so glamorous in her bikini (can't remember last time I was brave enough in the UK 😂), the pillboxes keeping us safe .. but hey what views .. and you guys having such fun at the Durdle Dor look-a-like. An thanks Christine, id definitely prefer the mountains any day but we are blessed with some stunning coastline here that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. the top three are absolutely stunning and rival some of the best places ive seen worldwide. Northern Spain (see you have booked) and the PCH are my favourite spots in the world. Jills very brave in that bikini, she insisted on it for the thumbnail. the first mock up of the thumbnail had me in the foreground with giant binoculars but we ditched it as it was just too silly! wow I can’t believe the likeness to the Durdle Dor, great spot. hope your having a great weekend. we are very excited to get back to some mountains xx

@@GENerationXplorers I absolutely adored that Galician coast and would return in a jiffy, however for our next trip we are heading north! Off to the NW coast of Scotland, an area on my bucket list .. visited NE coast and Orkney last year which was amazing ..including bagging the most northerly Munro ... easiest 3000 ft I've ever done for the most awesome views. NW is meant to be even better so here's hoping. PCH 🤔 California? Oh my you have travelled ? Looking forward to hearing all about your adventures ... @christinem3375 its us that needs the training Christine! We were exhausted walking around Lincoln centre today! We were constantly interviewing mind! I think that takes it out of us more than mountains! Ah the North West of Scotland is stunning. Was my regular haunt when i lived in the North West of England, Could get up there in a few hours on the M and A6. The PCH is stunning but id say Northern Coastal Spain can meet it head to head in several places. Excited for our massive hike ♥️ 🥾 🏔️

Getting some good wild camping inspo here! Crazy how quiet Cornelian Bay is compared to Scarbados! I remember a pillbox hanging almost off the cliff along there at some point! The pillbox there looks a lot better condition than a lot of the ones down my way! Hope you took some seaweed home to fry up and cook 😋 Rocky beaches have the advantages of not bringing a load of sand home in your boots 😅 great snaps Nick! Ahh another pillbox! Thanks Matt, i think your England Coastal Path vids helped inspire us on this one! We did see a few new signs put in for that path, feels a nice connection to your videos in that we are walking parts of the same route. Lots of wild camping options on here, several of them where the highest tide never hits the shire line. Speeton Sands is a real beauty, i think even with all that sand we were hitting that one close to high tide. That ship wreck is normally in the middle of a vast beach that goes out quite the distance! The first beach we visited way up North, we didn’t pay the £1 parking for, it was about a 5 mile linear trek down and up 700 foot of cliff. It took us almost two hours to do. The whole thing took 13 hours to film! Was good fun but we were both delirious by the end of it. Our coast is very “cliffy”, you make your videos look like you take them in your stride!

Wish id kept a tally of how long and far it came to! Beyond Filey and the end of The Cleveland Way they have really gone to town with those England Coast Path signs, they look great! Just researching our very first trip to Lincoln, i wonder how long it will take to find free parking there?

@@GENerationXplorers hmm all I can say is good luck re the free parking 😆 yep, it's surprising how much those cliffs can take it out of you, and then walking on the sand/shingle/rocks as well, isn't easy! I think the plan is to have a coast path around the entirety of the English coast, currently Wales is the only country in the world to have one!

Speeton is a real beauty though and the Church where you park has free tea, coffee and biscuit making and they just ask that you make a donation. onsite toilets too! hope your having an awesome week. finally going to be attempting Coledale soon after watching it on your channel! 👍

Withernsea and Spurn Head? I wonder why? Would have thought it was terribly flat down there! Beverley yeah full of middle class toffs and the MP for Hull. Mind you last time I visited in December I still found about twenty closed units. Even a middle class place like that is starting to fall..
