Hi Tim , just seen the video and I really enjoyed it. I am a 17 year old resident in Robin hoods bay, I have lived here all of my life in the top of the village. Tourists don’t get annoying in my opinion because they are the people who keep my home village thriving :) 👍🏻 (next time pop into The Grosvenor pub at the top, it my mum and dads) :)

I’ve been living in Yorkshire for a year now and I’m from Ukraine. I’ve been to other counties but decided to stay here because it’s different world as you mentioned 💯 especially Northern part of it - the nature reminds me of Switzerland: always green and wild with rivers and streams, and sheep of course 😁

It is extremely commercialised. Most of the houses are rented out as holiday lets - many by commercial letting companies.. A few are 2nd homes, and there's only a handful of residents - I think around 40 people live down in the old village.

@@098317 Agree, like Whitby, great for a visit but not that great to live there. You can hardly get near things and in the shops due to the tourists, who sadly are usually very rude and still think they are in the city. Interestingly enough there are lots of little places like this in England, for example Old Hastings and residential areas of London. I watched a programme a few years back on Robin Hoods Bay. The tunnels and coves were used for smuggling. Many of the properties above them had holes in the floorboards. The smugglers would come up underneath using a special knock and the people above would open the floorboard and lift the contraband up inside the property.

Love Robin Hood Bay Tim in North Yorkshire. It's certainly steep! Anyone with Leg & Feet Problems beware! I bet a lot of people have accidents Especially in Winter with the steepness of the slopes & higgledy-piggledy Paths! Love the Wellies with Flowers in them on the Wall. Very pretty. Its all pretty & quiant with the Chocolate Box Cottage type Houses. Aren't they so tiny! And as you say Tim very close to the Neighbours! Bet the properties are expensive being in such a Tourist attraction area Im sure people must go to North Yorkshire just to see Robin Hood Bay! The Sea Wall was lovely right down at the bottom of the Bay. The shops & Pubs on the way down look lovely 😍 but all those cobbled Streets. You can't wear high heels there 👠 that's for sure!😆 Beautiful view over the Bay Tim & the waves crashing in! Im actually not quite sure what Contraband is😂Im sure im being naive there😂 You look taller than that Tiny Traditional Toy Shop Tim! I wonder how much properly prices are down there 🤔 The Seaside Cottage looks excellent, i can imagine you living there Tim! Glad you didnt fall on the way down! Imagine those paths on a cold wet windy day in winter! My favourite parts of Robin Hood Bay are the cottages & intricate pathways with the close Neighbours pretty cottages besides them. And the views from the Bay very stunning! Im sure all the Fish & Chips Shops are lovely & the Pubs too! There must be a delightful smell of Fish 🐟 & Chips & Beer! 🍻 Happy Days in Robin Hood Bay!
