I’m enjoying this channel - good job. Can I make a restoration suggestion?? I live on the north coast of Scotland and the weather here is quite destructive on cars, new and old (ask me how I know). To protect metal after I have painstakingly removed corrosion from, I use Jotun 87. It’s a two part primer used in the offshore industry to protect steel. It is fabulous, so much better than any other surface coating (beats cheap waxoyl, Hammerite or even expensive Dinitrol). You go to such lengths to abrade back and protect, it’s seems a shame to apply a finish that doesn’t offer the best protection.

Since then I had no more time to repeat this procedure and my car is still unprepared for winter ☹ And now its october... Who's coating a car in october, when you don't have a garage? You can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat. It's always cold, wet and rainy in Eastern Europe in this period (usually)

Brilliant videos YCR. I had a 280zx targa myself for a while. Back end rotted and was held together with fibreglass, the T top leaked so I had a constant wet behind for years. I'd have another in a minute !!!

Good video but you just got to fix that roof lol. A bit of flashband would probably do the trick temporarily/semi permanent. Just make sure you have a roof ladder that spreads your weight.

YCR. Love the content. I understand that repair panels are expensive but are they not cheeper than all that fantastic patching. The patching is very time consuming (and bloody clever). Are repair panels just not available? The finished car would cost a fortune just on your time alone.

We don’t do this for people to bring their cars to us so we can charge them :) we do this to show people how to do it themselves with simple tools and just £10 worth of sheet steel :) yes panels are available but are often too small and very expensive compared to your own time and a bit of sheet steel , it’s also very enjoyable doing the repair yourself :) it is very satisfying :)

be careful just using safety glasses with those high-speed wire wheels. I ended up with a tiny metal hook in my eye that way. With those things stuff can come at you fast enough to ricochet and still get around the glasses and into an eye. 😞

You are very right! Especially with the high speed ones, when the wires flick off, they definitely come off at some speed! we are trying to find visors which work with the ear defenders too
