Where do you put the chlorine in. Does YW use any chlorimine?

Hi Darren, thanks for the question. Most of our treatment sites use Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite) on the final stage of treatment. If we were to use Chlorine any earlier in the treatment process this would create THMs (which are carcinogenic and harmful to humans) by reacting with the dissolved organics in the water. There is a DWI regulation REG26 which says you have to prepare the water for disinfection, meaning treat it before you add chlorine. This is why it's normally always added towards the end of the process. We only use Chlorimine on a couple of our sites.
