Yorktown Heights FD Working Structure Fire Response

Yorktown Heights Fire Department Engine 272, Car 2533, and Engine 274, along with Millwood Fire Department Tanker 15 and Car 2251 (using Utility 145 as a spare), Somers Fire Department Car 2443 and Engine 188, Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Ambulance 86B2, Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department Tanker 10, Car 2081 (using Utility 208 as a spare), and Car 2083, and Mahopac Fire Department 18-1-1 (using 18-8-2 as a spare) and 18-4-1 responding to a working structure fire on Spring Meadow Road in Yorktown, New York. Car 2531 from the Yorktown Heights Fire Department also responded to this call, but is not seen in this video. A complete rundown of the units that responded is listed below.
Originally, the Yorktown Heights Fire Department, along with an engine from the Mount Kisco Fire Department, and a F.A.S.Team from the Bedford Hills Fire Department were dispatched for a reported chimney fire. Car 2284 from the Mount Kisco Fire Department was first to arrive on scene and confirmed an active chimney fire. A few minutes later, he updated that there was extension to the structure. With this information, Car 2531 requested the 10-75 (working fire assignment), which brought in the remainder of the mutual aid. The fire was quickly knocked down and the incident was placed under control within just under an hour.

Sweet catch, you caught some interesting rigs responding(some pretty nifty tandem axle rigs) 18-4-1’s 2530 gallon H2O tank is an odd duck, but no foam tank though!

Thanks! A lot of newer E-Ones have odd sized tanks like that. It is definitely designed so that a 30 gallon foam cell would reduce the water tank's capacity to an even 2500. I've seen E-One engines with 780 and 1030 gallon tanks for the same reason.

As in ladder trucks? Many set back houses in the area with long driveways. If a ladder isn't the first apparatus in, they won't be able to set up and end up parked on the street anyway. Obviously they didn't need one or they would have requested one.
