Yes I need to fix my upload schedule.
It feels great to be back! During this fall I have been studying many of the great classical works at my university. Currently I'm working on a few pieces by Beethoven, Chopin and now Ravel. To put it shortly: I've built up quite a bit of technique over the past few months. (The time in which I'm not uploading is essentially a training arc lmao).
But anyways, this is quite possibly the most difficult thing I've written once again as I tried to arrange all the voices and rhythms present in the song. It took me over an entire month to create this arrangement as compared to every previous arrangement I've done which took only a few days. You may have also noticed that I am using a new vst with improved audio quality.
The chorus is actually played in 4 different keys throughout this arrangement since I decided to put the intro part in a slightly different key from the original. After experimenting with random stuff, I ended up writing it in A minor which worked very well for some reason. Similarly, the second chorus at 2:28 actually didn't exist in the original song either. In its place were 2 other sections both half the length of the chorus, but for some reason inserting another chorus sounded much better when I first tried it. This arrangement also demonstrates trying to replicate as much of the original song as possible, but at many points I discovered changes in the rhythms or voicing worked really well instead so I altered the structure a bit.
I really like this new arrangement style though, I'll keep using it for future arrangements.
