Of course we do. Also, a video maybe explains the Yoruba ppl and modern religion. Are there many people who still follow the Old Ways or has Christianity and Islam taken over?

@@mrsoready Yes, they have and the ppl have lost their ID. We are the ppl the bible spoke of, the real Israelites. Yorubas are not idol worshippers but at the same time, we have lost the true form of worship, we have become wicked and still practice wickedness, we honor the deities and cast OLODUMARE a side, therefore He/She sends us into slavery and the white man as a whiplash on our backs.

Alafia! Karo... English grammer is very complex, it always tries to generalize someone elses beliefs. Folklore are like myths or fairytale. People who practice the tradition, these are real people. Shango was a real king of Alaafin. Obatala was the king of Efe and Oduduwa ile-efe. They are know as Orishas but also as Irunmole. Meaning great ancestors. Hence, the word Folklore is incorrect. Thats like saying, Mohammed, Jesus/Yeshua or Shiva are folklore. They are not because it is part of a religion. Thank you, Ashe, O dabo!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

@@adehborwalehbaniretravih6836 Israelite? Where in Nigeria is Israel? Stop talking nonsense.
@adehborwalehbaniretravih6836
@adehborwalehbaniretravih6836 4 жыл бұрын
@@janejemibewon4924 . My beautiful melanated dear sister. I do hope you like your skin color. This is what the bible says about those of us who follow false hood as culture because we are comfortable with lies. We scorn at the mere mention of what is contray to established norm. There are plenty of examples in the Bible that are talking about the Yorubas. Little did we know that Yoruba is a language, not an identity. I bet you'd say that Jesus is not a black man either because you are very comfortable with the white Jesus whom you prayed to every sunday, that makes you an IDOL worshipper. You would also tell me to stop talking nonsense if I told you Oshogbo is mentioned in the Bible and the virgin Girl known as ARUGBA, wouldn't you? and that the Most High Elohim is cming to take that Gift from that Virgin Girl one day? which means, Oshogbo is an holy Land. The bible is your history book and you are the daughter of the true God. Did you ever, expect the COVID-19 ? not at all you were caught off guard, just like Jesus said he would come like a thief and catch people unannounced.. Also you would find, if you bothered to search the OLURONBI myth in the Bible; Our ancestors told us it was a lady whereas the protagonist was a Man, a warrior. Now how did that story find its way into our traditions? ask the Almighty; THE GREAT I AM for enlihtenment and a revelation of your true identity, not wicked lies passed down to us by also our wicked ancestors who did not fear Elohim. Ponder on this; who is ESU and who is JESUS? if you took out the J prefix and S suffix what is the root word? aprt from west African where esle is Yoruba spoken literally as we do in Nigeria? listen to Ella Endal, she's from Trinidad and Tobago, listen to her songs. Enough for today's lessons. Sabath Shalom

Adebowale Banire the only falsehood is your Christianity. Our Yoruba spirituality predates your false religion by thousands of years. Meaning the Yoruba spirituality has been around for thousands of years before Christianity or Islam was ever invented. You praise a god of the opposite race. We praise a black god.

A little info I felt missing was the part that Obatala swore never to drink Alcohol again and recreated for a second time the perfect people. He then asked "Olodumare" a second time for the breath of life and was granted. (This is what gave to the account of the early men, homo erectus vs the homo sapiens). I also think you did not connect very well "The concept of Ile Ife ("Ile nfe si "- the grounds began to expand)" Finally - Yoruba has only one GOD who is OLODUMMARE (coined out from the words "Olo-Odu-Mare" meaning the owner of a pot that is not exhaustible. in other words, "that which we cannot Phantom") All others are saint like with vested powers. "Orisa" simply means ("Ori - Sa" literarily means "Head - To Select" = Selected ones (Heads) destined by Purpose) Ref: Professor Sophie Oluwole (late)

Everyone on KZbin narrating same incomplete Yoruba creation story. You started from stage 5 or so. Search online for the complete description by Oluwo Solagbade Popoola, from the Odu Ogunda. It even include evidence of the Big Bang. The verse start with "Iri tu wili tu wili", meaning "May the dew burst forth..." Have you heard the word "Origun" before? That's the deity that gave boundary to the universe. We often use the word "Igun" or "Origun" to refer to edges. That's where the word came from, because Origun gave edges to the universe. Do that search and you will see entire story, in yoruba with English interpretation.

I've heard a variation of the story where Oxalá would be the creator of humans. In Brazil, a religion called Candomblé directly inherited the tradition you've mentioned. What's the name of the tradition you've mentioned? You just said "folklore" but without mentioning a name. There's another religion in Brazil called Umbanda which is basically Candomblé plus Christianity put into a blender for 10 minutes. So, for example, Ogun and Saint George are seen as the same deity.

Hi Blessing, Let me congratulate you on your master piece.Good job, Blessing. Now that you have opened the flood gate of information. If I ask, who then are the people the bible is all about? The present day IFE is not the original one. It's in the horn of Africa aka the middle East, the real Yorubas never use animals skin for clothing and our ancestors were inventors, much of which the thieves have taken credit for. The sculptured head of the so called Ooni of Ife adorns the British museum in London its casting method is unequalled: the finest ever. The brain behind Rifles and shot guns were our ancestors. Nowadays we speak a modern form of Yoruba.

Alafia! Kale...hope all is well... Supreme being is Olodumare owner of the universe, Olorun means owner of heaven not sky. Olo owner, Orun is heaven. Possible that "heaven" is in the sky for some people. Please check out the book, "Orishas The Children's Book, the beginning". Available on Amazon. There are many different stories but 90% of them are similar. Only like 10% of them have slightly differences. But overall, it's still the same. Ashe, o dabo!
