26 miles is impressive! Good memories. A couple friends and I did Red Peak Pass in April of '77. Yes, April. There were bad droughts. Not a surprise so many trees are gone from LYV. We left from either Washburn or Glacier Point and finished at Happy Isles. Almost no snow except for a huge field on the east side. Should have expected it. It was rough but fun! It was the same year the weed plane clipped a ridge and crashed into Merced Pass Lake. It's a great area!

Yup! Blue Ridge is hard core. I thought I was tough but after this hike I spent 2 days hobbling around my house. (-;

Sorry for the late reply, but you should be fine in July. The north side of the peak was very snowy, but luckily I was able to follow some other footsteps!
