Curry Village is one of the oldest existing establishments in the park. Geographically it is in a summer tent camping sweet spot as it is in the shade of the south rim and not as much in the overheating sun as The Ahwahnee, Yosemite Village, Yosemite Lodge or anything else on the north side of the valley. In the cooler months the north side gets more sun, the ice rink is at Curry Village.

What's a good time to visit Yosemite 🤔 what month is best to see waterfalls
@markcorbe5103 Жыл бұрын
This is personal preference but April/May or Sept/October are best from my standpoint, to help avoid some of the big crowds in the summer. In terms of waterfalls, late spring is the best time (april/may). Yosemite falls, bridevail falls are completely the result of snow melt from higher elevations, so these seasonal falls literally dry up by mid summer. Other falls like Nevada and Vernal flow year-round since they are fed by the Merced River. Yosemite falls in the spring is pretty incredible thats for sure.

Quick question 🤔 whats up with the Hate and destroy shirt? I'm a little confused...

Ahaha oh god I knew this question would come up 🙈! It’s my husband shirt and a reference to a popular video game Thrasher: Skate & Destroy. A skating culture thing.

Are there a lot of bike racks? Talk about locking bikes please! We are bringing our own.

There are bike racks in the main areas. Not on the trails or in the wilderness.

May 2021. The park was only open to those who made reservations (covid rules), so it really was empty.

I’m planning to go this June but I’m getting a unheated tent. Will it be very cold at night ?
@fohpono88842 жыл бұрын
I stayed at Curry Village at the end of May a few years ago and it was freezing at night. They had extra blankets on the shelves. It snowed the day I tried to hike up Half Dome so I did not ascend the cables. But the hike up the Mist trail to Vernal and Nevada Falls was great.

Thanks for this! I’m planning a trip to Yosemite in late May and am considering Curry Village. Would you recommend it? How was the mosquito situation?
@kastanieta3 жыл бұрын
There were no mosquitos there. As for Curry Village was a perfect combo of rustic and comfort (for me). I would stay there again. I do have to say that we went there during the pandemic and it was hard to make a reservation for the tent - *so the park was nearly empty* . I think it contributed A LOT to our wonderful experience there and in Curry Village in particular. Stay tuned for my part 2 video! I still have lots of footage to edit.

I concur with Anya. I’ve stayed at Curry Village twice and feel it is the best way to visit Yosemite. The only concern was when I had to walk to the restroom in the middle of the night and was worried about bumping into a bear. I guess It’s part of making memories and the camping experience.

Enjoyed revisiting Yosemite Valley with you but cut it short when your husband used the "f" word. My family, grandchildren were watching. Inappropriate. Deleting ur channel.
