I love you Jennifer....whom I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking to..... she did a concert outdoors and they built a stage for her in Dallas in 2001 during pride weekend, Grambling and Prairie View were in the city, and the Texas State Fair was in full effect, festivities everywhere.....because I was calling out all her hits and songs, and it was my birthday, she dedicated a song to me, and signed an autograph picture for me....I was so honored....You're still my favorite original Dreamgirl! Jennifer Holliday is one of my favorite singers of all time. Her voice and range is simply staggering. The first time I ever heard her was in January 1982 on Saturday Night Live where she was the musical guest. She had me hooked immediately. She played Effie in the Broadway musical "Dreamgirls" which featured her singing "And I'm Telling You". This lady gives me goosebumps every time I hear her sing. This rendition of "His Eye is on the Sparrow" was from an HBO special and is an incredible performance. What a talented and underappreciated voice.
