Paul Simon is one of THE MOST gifted song writters of all times. When some of you put his singing skills down just remember that it is his skills to write songs like these that gives the great singers something worth singing about. Learn to respect the gifts that are in each person. God never intended for us to all have the same gifts. I have just as much respect for Paul as i do for the 2 magnificent voices singing HIS song. As a kid growing up in the late 60's, early 70's - the only voice I heard singing this song was Aretha Franklin. This is my 1st time hearing Jennifer & Luther and I love it!!! BUT, people can rearrange music to fit their voice and their style which is why Paul sounds like the odd man out in THIS VERSION because it was arranged for the types of vocals Jennifer and Luther have--soulful sounds coming from the bottom of your gut. How I love love LOVE this performance. And not because I am a HUGE JENNIFER HOLIDAY FANATIC!!! but it's clear as day that Paul Simon didn't really have a chance to shine against big voice/powerhouse Jennifer Holliday & Velvet teddy sounding Luther Vandross.
