When I first moved out of home I played this game every single day after work until I completed the entire thing. I had a second hand TV - the old school type with the wooden box and a proper "tube" and you had to dial in the channels - set up JUST for videos and my Nintendo 64 (or was it Super Nintendo 🤔). I played SO much and was so determind to finish that I had an imprint of the + joystick on my thumb. 😂 This is going to be an epic journey of nostalgia for me. I am back in that crappy room in my sharehouse with bugger-all furniture, a $50 futon and my beloved Yoshi. Here we go...!!!

Man. And when the game released here I was still waiting one more year to be born. I didn’t even exist yet when this game first came out. But it was one of my top favorite childhood games. Still own it along with my old Super Nintendo. I get the itch to play it from time to time!

I've been watching the chopped up variants of this video to speed up my 100% playthrough of this (mostly due to red coins flying away it turns out). I wanted to say that applying some CRT Shaders really will do magic for this games graphics. Naked pixels really limit the techniques OG devs were using to make their graphics pop and shine, they take an 11 out of 10 graphical feast and make it look more like a 6 out of 10 at best. In fact, many 16-bit titles just look "samey" without a good set of Shaders because there's nothing to add in the depth and texture to the patterns of pixels the devs went with. Games like Vectorman 2 and Super Mario World 2 are perfect examples because they had each went all out for their respective hardware's capabilities.
