This game definitely doesn't get enough love, probably since it hasn't had many good successors. Yoshi's Island is THE game to play if you want a unique platformer that has some awesome music as well!

The breakdown at 8:21 is my favorite part. It honestly feels like those last few steps you take after you beat a boss and you are literally on the brink of dying. Then, all of a sudden, your game cartridge freezes, and you spend a few seconds questioning why you were even born. Then, at 9:38 the game resumes; you see peach fall down from Bowers's grasp and you run away with her. That's what the final 3 sections of the song feel like in sequence.

2:09 the nostalgia kicks in... we were singing this tune all day long during our school musical repetitions... I suddenly remember the chicken bone tower we built, and the smell of smoke machines, and the feeling of an almost empty school building late in the evening, and all kinds of other details that make playing in a musical with friends from school such a special experience :-)

This soundtrack was destined for a Jazz arrangement. Incredible dude! Got chills on the underground cave. This was one of the last snes games I played during its life cycle and man was it incredible. One of the few happy sounding Nintendo soundtracks I enjoy.

Time for my live blog of the song. 2:50 - Breaking down that Flower Garden was beast. Loved it. 3:05 - ALRIGHT. insaneinthepiano is some of my favorite. 3:50 - YOU'RE NOT FOOLING ME. I hear that SMW1 Athletic. 4:25 - You should have used footage of 1-3, not 1-1. But I guess the music plays there too, lol 5:19 - Bringing it back with STYLE. Love it. 6:20 - Wow that guy sure is playing Yoshi fast. B) 6:55 - OH MAN. Bringing it into Castle. That was so sick. 8:00 - HERE'S THE SAX I LOVE. 8:10 - Really Carlos. We doing Song of Storms now? You crazy dude. 9:05 - I never knew Mini-Boss could be so perfect for sax. 9:42 - WHOOP WHOOP. So happy~~ 10:00 - DAT GOAL! Perfect ending! Really well done arrangement. While I will lament the fact we didn't get some sort of "Through the Fire and Flames" sax playing of Giant Baby Bowser, I will find solace in that sick Castle section. Really well done arrangement. Really fun, really pumpy and really something fresh when it comes to Yoshi's Island covers. Well done. ^_^

insaneintherainmusic. I really REALLY love this, this brings back so much. Yoshi's Island was one of the first games I played on SNES, and hearing this brings me back to the early 90s saturday morning wearing my ninja turtles PJs and playing this. I used to hum along the song as I was playing. I can picture every scene with the tune. and it's awesome. This is huge for me and everytime I hear it, it brings up the mood. Thanks a lot and keep doing an AMAZING job.

Haawke No prob! I've adopted the theory of "playing into the microphone", which is imagining that you need to project the sound of the bell of the instrument into the microphone. This subconsciously makes you play a little louder and focus your sound, which is better for the microphone, hence the smoothness!

Two Questions, I play music myself (keyboardist in a band) I really appreciate all the little fills you throw in there. Top notch stuff! Question 1 - Do you Play The Bass I am hearing in all your songs or is that computer aided? Question 2 (More so a request) Is there any way you can do a jazz cover of any of these songs? - Donkey Kong Country - Jungle Groove - The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker - Outset Island - The Legend of Zelda Link To The Past - Dark World Theme Song - Super Mario 64 - Bob-Omb Battlefield Theme I think all of these songs you could really add some extras to that would really make them stand out! Please consider doing one or all of these :-)

1. The bass that you're hearing is played via MIDI into a sample library called Trilian. It's got a lot of sampled bass instruments played by professionals. I'd love to play my own bass parts... if I had a bass to play them on! 2. I have plans to do all of those songs at some point! They are Nintendo classics and I am certain my viewers as a whole would enjoy hearing them! Enter those songs into my request sheet if you want to make sure that I do them!
