Wow, the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series sounds like a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts like us! The massive capacity, fast recharging, and waterproof design make it perfect for camping trips or as a backup power source for our RV. Thanks for sharing this awesome recommendation!

Thank you for the review. I’m still trying to decide if I like the 1950’s retro design aesthetics. As you said, interested in a deeper dive on tear downs and testing.

I don't have the equipment or skills to test the claims on the SST battery tech, although there are a couple of academic papers out there and as best I could gather, the results on safety seem mixed. SST is more safe in some situations, and the same or less in others. The weight savings seem incontrovertible however, which would make a big impact in the higher capacity banks. I realize design is rather personal, but Yoshino did use really nice materials, and that light bar is the best in the business. It might seem like a goofy consideration, but having used several of these banks at a campsite, it's a bigger deal than it might seem. The ultimate benefit would be during a power outage where you now have a useful lantern/worklight in addition to power storage.

Hi does the Yoshino B660 has UPS capabilities?
@TheBigHeavy6 ай бұрын
As far as I know, it doesn’t have an “official” UPS feature. It does however support pass through charging, so you could run your device off the inverter while charging the batteries to get similar functionality to a UPS. I don’t think you’d want to do this long term however.

No one seems to address the elephant in the room. Huge flaw. This unit and its bigger brothers do not have a 12v 10a DC car plug out port or Anderson out ports. I’d go with the Etaker semi-solid state M2000. Way better option than the Yoshino. 5521 plugs are notoriously vulnerable to breaking off when knocked into. The provided 5521 to Car port DC out really limits your amps.

I’d probably prefer an Anderson but those seem relatively uncommon. The problem with the automotive plug is that I find some devices are a bit loose (I’m looking at you Iceco). I don’t have enough time using the 5521 but I do wish we could get some innovation and standardization in 12V DC.

@@TheBigHeavy lol. Speaking of Tom would you consider trying to puncture this battery to see if it catches on fire? I’m on the fence of buying it but it doesn’t have a ton of reviews and I don’t know if it’s because it’s so new or what.

This is the only pack I have with this technology, so I'm hesitant to destroy it, but I'd be willing to ask the company if they'd send me an SST cell and I'd try putting a couple rounds through it to see what happens. I'm a bit spooked by Lithium batteries after watching too many videos and having too many of these things around the house!

Here's one video I found. Looks like it survived although homeboy with the nail didn't look all that confident: kzbin.infobZMwUM3cw8M
