After this song's release, she had a stream where she started tearing up talking about this song. This song is more of a conversation with herself. A part of her wishes to go back to the 'good old days' of her in the Jp underground rap scene, before hololive and before the success. But then scolds herself by reminding that the 'good old days' were not really that good and how some of those friends and heroes had villanised her and turned on her after she got her success as a vtuber.

For what it's worth, even if some of what was said in this song were things others had said to her, it was very much directed from her to herself. She did a lyric dive on the song, and it represents all of the feelings she was struggling with regarding her past and present, the guilt over how she got here, and what she left behind to do so.

When Covid hits, underground rappers in japan, as niche as they are, facing a adapt or go home kind of crisis. Calli adapted and saw massive success, success to the point where she feel like she outshone to those peers that she regard as much more talented rappers and more deserving of the spotlight.

If you’re down for more super raw Pouring her heart out, her most recent EP she released under the DEMONDICE stage name “Shut up, Get Happy” is probably my favorite project she’s ever released. Pure venting in one of the darkest moments of her life and it is Powerful.

Just to clarify, Off with Their Heads was definitely not thirteen years ago. Calli has only been Calli for about three years. And the entire Vtuber scene really only started seven years ago. And while yes, this is newer than Off with Their Heads, it’s only be about half a year. All three of the songs you’ve heard so far from her are from 2021, before she signed to her label. For her newest stuff, she actually has a brand new yet to be heard song premiering tonight called Black Sheep. And she’s had three other songs (Carousel, Six Feet Under and Future Island) come out within the last few weeks (all from the EP dropping tomorrow). A lot of her 2022 stuff is worthwhile too. I really like Nezumi Scheme and Let’s End the World for solo songs, and the duet songs Q and Capsule might be a good way to get introduced to a couple other Hololive members (Gawr Gura and Hoshimachi Suisei respectively).

One thing that strikes me in general, is that there's just so much talent out there that you can find. With youtube we can see a lot of that talent now first-hand that isn't available on the charts or through the mainstream. Whilst Hololive collect talents for more than just singing, its really entertainment in general, they have some fantastic singers which are basically pro-level or close. And then i've seen even smaller vtubers/artists outside Hololive who are also so talented and are even more overshadowed. Entertainment is just brutal, but what i can say, is that you'll never run out of stuff to find

This has been and probably still is my favorite Calli song. Among what others have already said I haven't seen anyone mention that Calli almost didn't even release the song because it was so personal. It was pretty much released on a whim and oh boy I'm I glad she did. It really makes you wonder how many unreleased songs Calli or really any artist has.

Fun fact: She's from Texas and moved to Japan to work with a underground Japanese band to do music and rap. So yeah the whole starting a new life was literal but at the same time despite all the difficulty and hardship she has faced she has basically achieved her dreams of making it big and be sponsored with a music company.

I always love seeing people finding Hololive. Really, Hololive is a Talent, and Entertainment. I love your Reaction, and i appreciate your word to Hololive so far. And then, let me introduce you to some of my favorite song. 1. Kobo Kanaeru - Princess Samurai (It's really underrated. Idk why people not hearing this) 2. Tokoyami Towa - Palette 3. Hoshimachi Suisei (actually, all of her song is banger, better check it out. But i love the most is GHOST) 4. Ayunda Risu - Alice&U 5. Takane Lui - Kick Back Cover Actually there are more, but yeah, im here just suggesting. Always watching you, and i'll wait for you to upload, especially for the Hololive. P.s : maybe i'll check another video from you, seems like fun to me. Peace.

I love to see anyone wanting to go down the Calli and Hololive train in general. She honestly the GOAT and glad you stumbled upon her and are liking her. I could type forever about her but I'm sure the other DeadBeats in the comments got me covered. Although it looks like you will get there, I would strongly recommend her newest EP Jigoku 6. Has some bangers on it. "Carousel" and "Six feet under" are cracked imo. Then maybe Wanted Wasted from her last album. Also, for non-Calli I recommend "Stellar Stellar" by SuiSei. Loved the vid and react and hope to see more. Much love!

Calli talked in some detail about this song during the stream "【NEW SONG CHAT】Talking About the New Song... Plus, Membership Reboot! #Holomyth #HololiveEnglish" (3-Oct-2021) shortly after the song released (1-Oct-2021). Since many of the topics touched on reference her pre-Hololive days, there are aspects she couldn't directly talk about as Calli. So the analysis "Calliope Moves On (Calliope 'end of a life' REACTION Analysis)" (1-Oct-2021) by DiceQueen Di, helps fill in some of the wider context of her experiences as an artist in the underground JP rap scene.

I love calli, and i love seeing people discovering her and the other talent in hololive. Theres nothing i can really say that hasnt already been said, and a part of that is this amazing sense of community within the fans of each vtuber. So instead I will just second a suggestion to watching Calli X Gura for Q and their KING cover. And then suggest Suisei's first take videos!

This is the song that took calli from being a vtuber that makes music to a true artist people started taking her seriously after this it’s her best song I think she has done

It's been a real trip, watching her career. From the silly anime girl who dropped a joke rap on debut, to the put-on cutesy voice she ditched because it was too cringe, to the 'teehee teehee', to becoming Dad, to pieces like this which are her scythe blasting into your chest, ripping out your feels and laying them on display, forcing you to look at them and say 'huh, well shit'. But really, they're all her own feels, and she's laying *herself* bare to her Dead Beats, in the chance they would understand a little more about her. She is Hololive's Paragon of Workaholic. She's a full-time streamer, a full-time musician, an artist, an animator, plus all the work she does for the vtuber agency behind the scenes, PLUS a separate music contract with Universal, PLUS PLUS she still has ANOTHER music career under her pre-Hololive identity (it's public, check her out). Calli is a beast, and an amazing human being. A belated Welcome to the Rabbit Hole, young sir. GUH!

Both this song and "Cursed Night" are her at her most vulnerable. When Calli signed up for Hololive she initially did it as a joke thinking that she wouldn't get hired, but when she did get a contract with Hololive some of her friends called her a sellout for signing with a VTube company. She regrets that she had to leave those friends behind but she wishes things could've been better for them. Calli admitted in her lyrical breakdown that she was hesitant in releasing the song because it was very personal to her, she was bearing her insecurities to her audience. And we love her for it because it shows a side that we don't often see with Vtubers.

Deep dive. Hololive is a branch of the Japanese tech company Cover. In 2018, Cover had a new tech to project animated avatars on IRL stages in front of live audiences, but they had no talent to project. Instead of using preexisting talent, Hololive was created to recruit recruit and promote "new" talent into idols that would draw an audience to preform in front of. Hololive started small with a "girl-next-door" streamer (Sora) and has grown into the biggest (in terms of fans and subs) vtuber agency in the world at this time. Mori Calliope (Calli) is one of over 100 talents, and not the best of them. This is a DEEP rabbit hole. Be very careful if you want to dive into it. There are other vtuber agencies with more talents (Nijisanji) or better vocal talents (Vshojo) or independents with a huge range of content just in music alone. I love Calli, I have for a while now, however, while I appreciate her lyricism, there are much better vocalists out there.

I think there's a reason why people complain about pauses, and its because people pause too much or aren't being genuine. I don't have that problem with you because you don't pause every 10-30 seconds. There's a difference between analysis and reacting actually. It's not the same as taking a bite out of food, because every 3-10 seconds when someone looks away to close their eyes or look at their phone/chat, they miss a lot of context. The songs and videos are only 2-3 min long, or maybe an entire episode, but missing a short scene of 3 seconds is enough for one to miss out. Too many reactors would look at chat all the time and miss out. In terms of ratio, if you count up the seconds, its like they're missing 10-30% of the video because they're 'reacting' by looking at chat. The other problem people have with pausing is the lack of thoughtfulness or intellect, and often reactors for videos whether anime or American stuff, would ask really dumb questions that can easily be answered if they'd just keep watching for another 5-10 seconds or 5 min. If you react, that's fine, people just have an issue if you try to analyze or guess things. At the end of the day its your channel and people will continue to watch you. You're genuine and honest and thoughtful. You don't say dumb generic stuff for the sake of making a video and reacting to a video. Unfortunately the good youtubers and reactors like you are underrated.
