Correction: when we come up against talented midfielders we get beat: Modric; Jorginho and Verratti; Tchouameni and Griezmann; Fabian, Rodri, and Olmo. We don't play footballers, we play athletes in midfield. We think that we can compete by running around. In high humidity and temperatures (but mainly humidity), your legs go quicker. Your brain doesn't.

'We are not a 1star Nation'... Ya see, I think that's the problem. I've been hearing this all my life and that's nearly half a century. Despite winning nowt since 1966 (and that wouldn't have stood if VAR existed) - what do England do on the national stage, that continues to make them 'favourites' every tournament? I don't see it? This isn't even a golden generation. It's overhyped as usual. England's real golden era imo, was the squad containing Gerrard, Lampard, Ferdinand, Sheringham, Shearer, Owen, Rooney then coming through - countless great players to choose from and that's not even naming them all at the time. Prior to that, it was the Italia '90 squad. The only problem then, was other nations had just as good, if not better squads, plus the tournament pedigree. England don't have tournament pedigree. Without TV money, the English league would be hoof and hope, elbow and shinbreaker, hoof it again. England have looked bobbins all tournament and didn't have a hard game until Netherlands - when they finally met a top tier team, chasing shadows as usual. Another problem with Southgate, is he does the substitutions too late and at the wrong time, if you was watching the football match. Spain we're doing 5 or 6 substitution but tactical substitution at the right time not too late, so many players on the England bench who didn't get to play that had so much to offer, When Spain was doing all there substitutions, I knew it would have a big positive effect on their team performance, I am not even a football manager and I know that it's common sense! Gareth Southgate has done very well to get them to where they are, but he's not the person to take them over the line!

A loss for England was what I was really hoping for. The way they progressed to the final was less than convincing. Apart from their game, they were also in a qualifying group of lesser footballing nations. They redeemed themselves against the Netherlands and I thot they will just pip it against Spain. But the main reason why I wanted them to lose is to see the crazy reaction from pundits and supporters. Southgate n the players were attacked all the way right up till the Netherlands game. Then making the final made Southgate n Co best thing ever since sliced bread. There was talk of a knighthood and huge financial rewards for being crowned the champions. Well, from Zero to Hero to Zero. Now, Southgate is this that and the other and hes to blame for everything. Supporters are so fickle. But its a good result for Englands future becoz they need to rebuild n get in a better manager. There was talk of extending Sir Gareth Southgates contract after winning Euro. Heavens forbid becoz the worst thing is to rest on our laurels and to really believe that Its Coming Home!

Spain were just too good and we were lucky to only lose 2-1. 😂 Anyway England's next game will be in Dublin against the Rep of Ireland in the Nations League in September. If Southgate had thrown caution to the wind, England would've been battered, in fact, were it not for Pickford & some uncharacteristically poor finishing, we would've been 3 goals down by the 70th minute! The only thing I could fault him for, is not starting with his best player (Palmer) and playing a clearly injured striker (Kane), there's no room for passengers in the final of a major tournament

Southgate won 2 games out of 7. The easiest run in the tournament. Southgate is a hack scared to pick players in form. He is a robot and knows only one way. I was surprised how poor some of the superstars have been. Namely Bellingham, Kane & Rice. It feels like no matter how poor these guys are they always remain on the pitch. John stones and guehi did well. Mainoo is a very nice player saka has been one of the better players. Watkins causes problems every time but loves on the scraps Southgate feeds him
