Pulitzer Prize-winner Megan Marshall presents passages from her biography Elizabeth Bishop: A Miracle for Breakfast (Houghton Mifflin, 2017) and discusses how she developed the innovative structure of her book. Interspersing her remarks with audio clips from the Woodberry Poetry Room’s recordings of “In the Waiting Room” and “Santarem,” Marshall offers new contexts for understanding these key works as both political and personal statements. Introduction by Heather Treseler.
