Omg, this just spoke to me so much. First, that nagging fear of being nothing. I thought it was just me. What a relief to know that it is what all men deal with and I need to accept it and get over it. Second, I really need to let my mother be. She is fine, our relationships are fine, I don't need to fix her. What a great explanation of how you honor your parents! I just loved this talk!!

Could you point me in the direction of clarification on the one GOD. Scripture says, let's make man in our image .Who was GOD talking to? Going back to read a little. Please Which translation from Hebrew to English Bible would you recommend? And any other books that would be a compliment to the Torah or Bible.

So true Rabbi Friedman, to be needed hits your soul like nothing else. There's one thing i think from experience (I've always had close relationships with animlas since a child) - certain deeply sensitive animals value being needed by those closest to them, not just affections of love. Not in the same way as a person's soul, however it seems Hashem created certain animals with deeper sparks of His Soul. For example some dogs have the emotional undstanding of a 3-4 year old human. Very young children yearn to be needed to be 'apart of' the family where everyone has something to contribute, our dog reacts the same way. It seems the whole Earth & everything in it echoes to be NEEDED not loved to create harmony the inanimate, plant, animal & human worlds intergrated need eachother. I guess it makes sense, G-d wouldn't create something that wasn't needed & there's nothing but G-d.

I feel needed! You are so very bright that's what keeps the elderly alive I believe The thought that they are needed and loved and wanted and can produce even in their elderly age. Yes as a psychologist I believe this also keeps... people alive, now, as a human being.... it also keeps human beings alive.

Victor Frankel wrote that those who survived emotionally after being in Auschwitz were those who had gone into the camp from a secure family upbringing and sense of purpose before the Shoah. Trauma therapist Edith Eiger who is 94 and still a therapist, has had many survivors of child abuse which stunted their emotional growth. They asked her how they can talk about their trauma when she had survived the Shoah? She replies "At least when I went into the camp, I knew who my enemy was!"

Loving God is fine. But never fear God. He has already given you the wisdom and guidance, it is within you, you just have to be alert and attentive to it. No need to search, everything is inside you from the day you were born. You just have to stop paying attention to the noise that fills your head and masks his direction, his guidance, and suddenly everything will seem clear, absolute, primal.

What about the songs of Solomon ?? I used that as a full measure of love Babies need love children need love Parents need love Doesn’t the whole world need to love and be less selfish? I am not talking about saying I love you but showing it’s all in the mitzvahs the feeling will follow 😊
@nomorecensoringme

No. The mitzvahs are not 'all about love'. 613 mit,bags are about what G-d wants and needs from Jews to make the world a dwelling place for Him. You want to hold on to the idea of 'love' being the beginning, middle and end. It's not. You are free to think as you like.

No it is one does the mitzvah into god because it is what god needs not weather or not you want to…you do the mitzvah because it is commanded in the holy Torah Sometimes there is a feeling of satisfaction or a feeling of love but none the less you do it because it is right and godly thing to do Sorry I may not have expressed myself as I thought it was expressed I am not a rabbi Always consult a rabbi if you need clarity

If we understood our marriage to God, we would understand our marriage to each other. Jew and nonjew, man and woman are just a reflection of the self. When the self loves God, we birth His light, which is our love and respect for one another 🙏
@nomorecensoringme
@nomorecensoringme Жыл бұрын
No. We each are connected to G-d in a special way akin to marriage. A deep intimate connection. We're not 'married to G-d', that's another ideology not Judaism. We're not 'married' to each other either. We are separate people who will one day be more united as a global community when everyone accepts the reality that G-d is All and He is One, for everyone. Loving G-d does not automatically mean respect and love for our fellow human beings. It "should" though it doesn't, yet. Like everything else it has to be worked on to happen. 'Respect' would come before 'love' since many people say they 'love' though have little to no 'respect'. Another overused word that has lost meaning.

@nomorecensoringme
@nomorecensoringme Жыл бұрын
What is 'slavery'? Having no choice in serving a "master" who "owns" you, whether bought and paid for or by control. Contrast that with us joyfully and enthusiastically serving G-d. Our "lack of choice" if you want to see it that way is that we're compelled to serve Him. We all have a choice, free will, not to serve G-d, not to acknowledge Who He is, What He is, etc, therefore no hint of 'slavery'. Maybe except in your mind.

@@nomorecensoringme 1) We are brought into existence without our consent. (An existence that can be really crappy) 2) We are given a bunch of commandments. (I know commandments is not the best translation, but I wouldn't call them suggestions either) 3) It's true that we can choose to follow the commandments or not, but what happens if we don't? Ask Sodom and Gomorrah. You don't detect a hint of slavery in this? Don't misunderstand me. I love God, but sometimes I hate him too. I'm only playing devil's advocate here to get a better understanding cause it seems like he roped us into this mess because he couldn't handle being lonely.
