@@yorkshirewanderer6176 Apparently wasting police time is actually very rarely (if ever) used. These cases rarely go to court and need the permission of the DPP (Director of Public Prosecutions). Which sounded like a high threshold that they'd rarely use because of the time and cost. I'm just saying what I heard.

@@markosmith8037 It's a rare case because the person making the call just needs to say that they honestly thought it was a crime and they get off scot free. To properly charge, evidence that they know it wasn't a crime and they still rang is needed.

Easier and better solution to start civil proceedings against the company for the actions of their employees and contractors. I simple letter will usually get a result without having to get solicitors involved or go to court. The company will usually pay up a few hundred quid than thousands for legal advice and court proceedings. Plus it ensures that even more people in the company know about the stupid actions of the employees/contractors.

He is actually open to a subject access request because he is at work!, GDPR rules are quite explicit, her as an employee is a data collector and must comply with the rules, you however are not so bound. I know the poor man is only doing what he thinks is right and proper and any fault lies with his employer but for us watching it is very entertaining!. The second one at about nine minutes is even worse!, he also 'thinks' he is in the right but even if he was there is no good excuse for such appalling bad manners!. I wonder how much longer the company that owns and operates the site will tolerate such bad public relations, maybe they are only concerned with their profit margins!. Cheers, Richard.

It might not be a typical response, but I have a great deal of sympathy for the security guards - they’re clearly not native British, and they’ve been taught very badly by their employers! None too sure that giving these security guards a hard time is helpful (it’s sad that the employers are so ignorant) but as usual it’s the PBI “aka Poor Bloody Infantry” that gets it in the neck! I don’t have any issues with the channel/drone pilot as he’s acting in a legal manner. I’m more concerned about the security guard being given information that isn’t legal, let alone enforceable by the security guards. Is it possible to show you trying to educate the security guards the actual laws? It might not be as great from the channels POV but it would certainly show NA’s empathy and understanding for a poorly advised guard. The silly sod at the 9m mark was just as clueless and far less sympathetic than the previous guards but that’s just life! It’s just a thought……..
@TheSadButMadLad
@TheSadButMadLad Жыл бұрын
Trying to educate them doesn't work. It's been tried. They are more worried about losing their jobs if they don't do what they've been told to do/trained over. They will also believe their supervisors over a random person. So long as the guards don't get overly aggressive or violent I would just let them get on with their job. But the publicity will usually get some results, especially if people write in to the company and raise complaints.

I know that its now legal to fly at night with a drone without special permission etc. However, to do so an anti-collision light must be fitted. I didn't see any flashing red or white light flashing during the filming with the drone, which gives the impression that no light is fitted. I could of course be wrong. In addition, l dont know what drone you have but if it is a 249g with a light attached, you could now exceed the 250g limitation. Extract from the legislation However, drones flying at night need to be equipped with appropriate anti-collision lights that are visible up to a distance of three statute miles. This too, is a must to maintain visual contact with the drone. Thought I'd mention it as l wouldn't want to see you deep in it.

Thanks, I really appreciate you looking out for me, but I always take care to keep vlos at night. Many people ask me about this. I have a special way that I light it up to keep it under 250g and I make sure I can prove this. I could take a jury out and prove it. Also sometimes the lights on my drone don't go out when filming. Usually just after I put the battery in, so for any hard to reach bits I land and new battery up.

The issue is these security guards are on minimum wage been put through a basic security course and given the job told you are here to protect the business premises. They get little training or information on the laws pertaining to "protecting the premises'. They need a job so do what they think is correct. The companies dont want to waste time and resources educating them or their management as they believe its all private property and they have 'rights' that are not real and to admit that drops the veil.. The police should do what the fire and rescue fo and educate them instead of sending resources to site for nothing.

Well done for staying calm. The security done his job. However i shall give you a tip. Don't fly your drone over private property without the owners permission, it is deemed as trespassing and the companies can have you charged for doing so. You are However allowed to film if you and your cameras stay off the property. Including out of the air zone of the property itself. You could be charged for trespassing with this drone footage
