Sweet voice and beautiful performance. Reminds me a little bit to Ruth Etting.

This 1935 classic by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed was revived by the latter in his 1952 MGM musical, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN. Now widely considered among the greatest movie musicals, Singin' in the Rain did an average box office in first run. Hildegarde Loretta Sell was an elegant cabaret singer in long gloves who's known for "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup". The never married Wisconsin native Hildegarde died in a Manhattan hospital on July 29, 2005. She was 99.

Quite a life & believe her career was a long one. Don't see many of her records over here.

@@tiga4180 or here, frankly. Bring back Hildegarde! Build a shrine for her in Wisconsin. In winter.

@@tiga4180 Nice to hear this song's rarely sung intro.

@@AnnieVanAuken I too like to hear the full song. Those dance band pieces 'with vocal refrain' just leave me wanting. Fortunately, over here we had Fred Douglas, who seemed to specialise in singing the full lyrics to 1920's dance tunes. He sang solo & also as one of 'The Two Gilberts. I've posted many of his/their records.
