Which Roland only has 9 cards in, Frost consistently ignored one of the cards of the 9 and thus, never actually saw Furioso until NPC Roland used it because Frost, fails to read

However it's not like you control the character forever, some cards 4 costs, making 2 or 3 costs unplayable at the same turn, and sometimes if you just play the required cards to prioritize Furioso rather than trying to play cards with block to protect Kali and Binah, you risk losing them unless you are THAT sure that you can both protect them when your StS character arrive AND protect yourself at the same time. Or just trivialize the entire fight with Catalyst like Frost did.

From what I've heard the ruina acts aren't balanced around base game characters and relic's, as it's intended to be balanced around you playing as the library of ruina characters from their respective character mod and the relic's that they add to the standard drop pool. In the past I've heard it's possible to fully beat all of the ruina acts as the base game characters on A20 but it's not very consistent and very rng dependent.

As someone who used to beta test this mod... it's absolutely balanced around base game characters. You can beat a20 on all characters, it's just that it's a fair bit more difficult than the base game is. EGO cards exist to to make it a lot more winnable too, they can be extremely helpful. I mean there's an act 1 card that literally doubles your damage for example.
