I was thinking the same thing; that I'd recommend he game, but I wouldn't have recommended streaming it - the amount of things you have to consider, the amount of micro-ing and other things that go into a playthrough just doesn't lend well to streaming, at least not when you look at his regular streams. Plus, he won't need to feel as stressed while reading the tons of tooltips and whatnot. He could probably stream it once he's played through it once, if he's the type that enjoys replaying a more scripted, story-focused game.

It's fun to watch people experience it-but it's true that it's not the greatest game to stream. Fans of the series will flock to it like they have here and things get rampant with backseating and spoiling things bc they can't control themselves

I disagree that the game isn't stream material. It very much is (for some people and just in my opinion) after catching a few streams live from someone I watch a lot. But as much as it is a fun game to watch someone stream. There is without a doubt too many people who try to backseat and also just a lot of people trying to spoiler stuff that does make it probably annoying to stream it

What's funny about the run frost did this video is he wanted to see all the unique mechanics of the enemies and for some of them he did, however the late game enemies got killed in 1-3 turns due to the deck turning into turbo strength gains with 1 ego card, exhume and limit break + a generic ironclad exhaust engine to streamline the OTK and FTK power of his deck. so I guess the main theme of the ruina acts mod is here's a ton of new enemies based on the game library of ruina with a handful of universal EGO cards and events with some of them either giving EGO cards or event relics that are designed to be used to trivialize the challenge of the run with OP combo's.

I'm only midway through the video, but I did love how Frost at the beginning was all about "Yeah we're doing another run cause we didn't really get to experience a lot of the mechanics of the fights" and the run immediately turns into such a steamroll that the mechanics start to get ignored again. Whenever I hear him say "that such a cool mechanic!" it pains me that he doesn't seem interested in playing Library of Ruina since THAT IS WHERE THE MECHANICS ARE FROM, just translated at places to Slay the Spire edit: don't get it twisted though this mod is goated and they did amazing porting ideas from LoR into StS in a natural way, but keep in mind that all the art, music, and general concepts from this come from somewhere.

Im kinda sad they nerfed fresh meat, it used to purge the card permanently if the enemy killed it. I remember on my first run when i read that and panicked after it took a linchpin card from my deck. It was extremely tense.

Harmony is such a well designed card, you have to make a balance between saving it for the final hit to amp up the strength gain, or using it straight away to get the strength but not juicing up the card

Funny you mention Yan! The mod just today got an update that changed a few things around. Distorted Yan in particular was reworked. I haven't seen the new event yet but apparently the combat encounter was removed, so RIP children of the city.

So I played the mod as well. I feel to beat the mod you have to be a near infinite or broken combo in your deck to win based on the damage output and go of the enemies. The win I got I got lucky and hit a dead branch with an exhaust build to gain near infinite armor and damage and it was still close sometimes.
