In this video we take a flip through the recent release of You Are The Hero. This is a detail history book about the birth and growth of the Fighting Fantasy book series. If ya really dig this wonderful and simple system and would enjoy it as as a full rpg system , FF tried it but made it beyond with Advanced Fighting Fantasy (which has been wonderfully updated)….. But to keep it super lite and easy and as it was…… Spellzard! is an outstanding clone of it! Spellzard! does it, wonderfully! Enjoy, everyone! 🙂

this is where the basic fantasy role-playing game came from right

No I think it came more from early versions of Dungeon and Dragons. The author of Basic Fantasy might have been influenced by these game books but I never heard anything linking these together.

@@solitaryrpg you're right! i was thinking of the advanced fighting fantasy rpg. "Advanced Fighting Fantasy (AFF) is a British roleplaying game based on the Fighting Fantasy and Sorcery! gamebooks, first published in 1989. Just as the gamebooks, AFF is set in the world of Titan. A second edition of AFF was published in 2011."

@@ekurisona663 Yes AFF is based on the books. I have it on PDF but might spend the money to pick up the physical copy of the deluxe rule book.
