It's been almost 10 years since I've even held another woman's hand. I'm 30 now. I've witnessed my closest friends in my life all become married. This waiting has developed a deeper leaning onto the Lord and into the word. I've broken my hardest addiction in the process. Also, this is speaking to me (and I’m sure many others) because on 9/14 of this year, I made a commitment to myself and God to remain celibate until he brings a man to me instead of me trying to find a man (side note: all of my choices have failed miserably), so, at 39 (40 in Feb), I have finally allowed my brain (instead of my heart) to take the lead in this area of my life because, as a faithful Christian woman, I know that marriage is closest to God’s heart, and that’s what he desires the most for his beloved children, but not just any man or woman as I’ve discovered. Love your videos Mark Can you clarify point 2 ~ so isn’t that obviously based on individual situations ~ what if the couple made a prayerful and intentional decision to take a step back in order to be better prepared for marriage (healing, etc). If there is an issue that needs addressed and they want to change, it’s best to wait till God does the work needed and transforms their heart with His truth so they are whole and ready ~ if they are truly seeking God and growth isn’t that a good thing? Only time will tell, I know … and God will reveal the genuineness of both people … but I don’t think just because someone isn’t ready “right now” is proof God is not wanting you to wait. God could be doing a work and it takes time alone with Him to be ready for the next step in the relationship.

This is interesting and I would like some input. I recently reconnected with a colleague this spring and things went quickly. Through him, God showed me that I had internal issues and trauma that must be healed and separated us over the summer. It was bittersweet but now we're both back in the same city (we're college students) but our interaction has changed. We're still on very good terms but just not as close as before. I've prayed about him and have been since 2019 and I believe that through prayers, Godly counsel, and knowing him that perhaps he is the person God has for me. Throughout this season I've encountered many suitors but I can't seem to move on from him or desire to even be with someone else. Although we have a past and are not as close as we used to be, is this person worth the wait? Thanks

As a man on the opposite side of your situation myself with a colleague, be honest with him, but show him your desire for him first. Don't turn it up to 100, but show him you are interested in him so that he will want to pursue you. Don't pray to God for this person. Pray that God works on you and that in every situation you will be ok. That will give you the confidence to take that step and show him you have a desire for him. Men want to feel desired too and after things change from the initial circumstance, we need to feel that desire to put ourselves back out there and pursue that person again. Take that time to show him how you have changed for the better during that time apart.

How do I know that marriage is even in Gods plan for my life? I thought maybe it was but now I'm confused as to if that was just myself convincing me that it is cuz that's what I want. About 10 years ago I kept asking God if it was and suddenly I saw a vision of me and an unknown man in what looked like Utah or maybe the red desert in California. We were clearly more than just friends, but I could not see the mans face. After all these years I have had a total failure of a love life and turning 31 this year single zero prospects. Where did that vision come from? I never experienced anything so vivid before, was it deception? God continues to remain silent on the issue.

Charlie, don’t go to anyone except for God with this matter. Especially to “attract”. Maybe His silence is a call to wait on Him. What is the origin of this desire? Sometimes God puts certain desires on our hearts that go along His will. God made us in his imagine so I truly don't think color or race plays a factor.. However when it come to picking a partner for life you must be equally yoked. Meaning you must have the same morals and values. If you don't you will have problems with the marriage and probably wouldn't be a happy one after a while. If you share the same beliefs and have the same standards growing up you have a common ground. You both need to pray and ask for God's help and wisdom.
