Idk, when I started ds3 it was my first souls and it was insanely hard, then I tried ds1 and felt ease, pace is slower and I had time to think in a middle of a battle. But yes, an incredible level design of first ds can be frustrating enough for new players
@saveritas7315 ай бұрын
Great video. I like that DS3 is easier if you've played other Soulsborne games. The attitude that the game has towards the player is: You finished DS1 and Bloodborne? You'll fit in just fine here! Have a seat and grab a cold one, you've earned a break before Elden Ring.
@MaTtRoSiTy5 ай бұрын
DS3 is the best of the 3 for sure, I have finished it many times with the last time being a week ago. I am currently replaying DS1 and man that game has some very frustrating areas and mechanics that they mostly got rid of in DS3. I just think the Ringed City DLC has some of the most infuriating and cheap areas
@rigorm1367 ай бұрын
High wall of Lothric, Undead Settlement, and Cathedral of the Deep are some of the best areas in the series

Ds3 was and still is the hardest of the trilogy for me, i don't know how anyone can say it's easier than remastered, ds1 starts you with a hard boss and then gives you a way to make him easy Ds3 starts you with gundir, if you know how to parry he's easy, but he's way harder than asylum demon or even the two bosses in 3 that follow him, in ds1and 2 the other paths made it so if i ever got stuck I'd just explore somewhere else for a while and usually get some stuff or at least souls to make it worthwhile, in 3 if you get stuck, you can go backwards or keep slamming against that brick wall i don't get how anyone can see it as the easiest

Midir isnt as much of a slog as people think. Yes his health bar is big but once you get the critical it chunks off like an entire quarter of his hp.

Idk honestly I'm quite mixed about ds3. The second half of the game plus dlc is quite good but the first half is just really mediocre, weak levels, boring bosses beside gundyr and abyss watchers, ig dancer aswell but you usually fight them end game. The game takes a large uptick in quality once you get to itherieal boreal valley but I still find the first half just so boring. I did however play bb and sekiro first so maybe the standard was too high going in. Not saying ds3 is bad but I just personally believe that bb and sekiro are froms best work

Great video, keep it up! I'd like to recommend trying Sekiro. At first, I really struggled to learn the combat mechanics. It probably took me several days to actually understand what the game wanted from me. But when you overcome this hurdle, there's an amazing game underneath with really fun combat.

I’m tired of posers and tourists complaining about “toxicity”. “Git gud” is not toxicity, it’s informal slang for “you can do better, I believe in you”. It’s a kind of rough love, reflecting the experience of the game itself- are you gonna whine and cry that you can’t defeat a boss, or are you gonna look at the situation as a positive challenge? I guess it’s a matter of world-view, something that the games should teach you… It’s also, as you said, gatekeeping. You haven’t learned the lesson that the souls games preach. If you hear “improve” and immediately think it means something negative as opposed to a challenge to be overcome… That’s a you problem, dude. I prescribe you a SL1 deathless run of DS3, maybe that’ll fix it /j If you want to talk about toxicity, bring up the insane amount of political activists that infest practically every online community around the souls games outside of 4chan. It says a lot that the most wholesome community around the souls games also happens to be on the website that most people think is more toxic than blight town.
@themelancholia6 ай бұрын
Well IDK. Souls fans seem to think souls games are the only difficult series ever made. They ignore CoD Zombies, Terraria, Darkest Dungeon, Payday 2, and various PvP games. They are obsessed with difficulty and think every criticism of the games comes from a lack of skill. The only skill in these games is pressing the dodge button.
