I so enjoy seeing you two travel. In a way you remind me of my parents back when they traveled all over the world so many years ago. I for one, feel that regardless of your past careers, you are both teachers, since you educate us on the history of the various places you visit. I appreciate that since I have never been to the UK. Thank you for sharing your life and great pictures of younger years and present lives!

This was AMAZING!! CAROL WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BRIDE 👑!! & Ken the dashing man of law enforcement!! Of course, both still stunning as ever👍. Explained so much: Carol's spread sheet aptitude, Ken's observational skills with concurrent narration(VO i know, but so smooth it seems real time) deducing what's going on. & the Harmony isn't magic; it's logical behaviors, & simple courtesy & respect. Well, and I do see a bit of magic as well 🪄❤️. Ah, if only all partners would learn the other's triggers and AVOID them, as opposed to using them as a weapon. Just the most wonderful video. There certainly needs to be a lot more charging stations to cope with the increase in demand.
I really enjoyed your life story, a lot of similarities with my own, my wife and I have had campervans for five years now and do a lot of wild camping ( not so much during covid ) and I agree with the rule of thumb " dont buy a campervan/motorhome any bigger than you absolutely need", looking forward to next instalment.👍

Different blue light but the same challenges so I have a good feeling for what it must be like. All the best from me for those final years. Quite a change for your wife and good for her to achieve that. Its a big decision on which vehicle to choose but you have plenty of time to study the field. KZbin is a great resource for that. 👍

Really love watching you two. You are right relaxing right watch .. nosey question sorry …. I am a massive caravan geek and love it, since getting the little red van have you ever missed the space of the caravan ? Envious of the freedom of the little red van but don’t know if I would miss space
@LifeistooshortCK2 жыл бұрын
You would definitely miss the space and all the lovely things like Alde heating which is mostly silent. We left caravans as we had 2 Baileys where the axle dropped and we had started watching KZbin videos about van lifers. We took the plunge and ordered the NV200 specifically as we wanted to be super mobile and to be able to park anywhere. Huge risk as we couldn’t hire one to see if we liked it. Luckily for us the freedom it brings has proved more important than the comfort. Beware though that if you get unlucky with the weather like we did on the next series (starting Friday 8th April) things are more challenging in a small van. Our advice is hire a van first to make sure you like it.

Fun to learn that you worked at the airport for so many years Carol.. because i do work at the airport in Oslo. At the moment for Menzies that originate from UK. Love the atmosefare... and I love to do planning of trips altough my hubby likes that a bit to... and most of the time we are a bit impulsive. We love our tiny caravan a burstner 410m. We do a lot of freecamping i Norway and Sweden. Maybe itis easier here. We think a bit oppsiteof you when it comes to reasening for or against a camperwan ormotorhome. We do look at them. Hi Astrid, lovely to hear from you. It does sound like we have many things in common. Wish we had the same attitude to free camping in the UK that there is in Norway and Sweden but I guess we just don’t have the space. Enjoy your travels 😀

Lovely to hear all about how you met and your jobs, I smiled when you mentioned about doing a wild camp in a multi storey car park, I thought to myself that will probably happen on one your trips😀, thanks for a very interesting video, looking forward to the next video.

We are still waiting for delivery of our NV200 campervan and after more delays due to second lockdown now expect a handover in December. However, in the interim, we find your tips and information invaluable, as is your Amazon list. When we ordered our campervan we were anticipating mainly using camp sites, however we have been really impressed by how frequently you wild camp, so would be very interested to hear your experience and tips.

Thanks for watching Gordon. There will be a video on wildcamping coming out soon. Sorry you have had to wait so long for your NV200 campervan. We waited six months for ours so we can understand your frustration. Hopefully we will be able to travel again after this latest lockdown so you can get to enjoy it soon 🙂

Another great video, Carol and Ken and so nice to get to know you better. However isn’t it a bit strange that it’s a one-way street from your point of view and you don’t know your subscribers much. We get to know you and you don’t really know us. On your travels you might get people treating you like best friends and you’re wondering ‘Who is this’!!! haha! Oh Carol - it made me smile that you turned him down after 6 months and he made you wait 3 years before asking again!!!!! Anyway it all turned out well and you both come over as well tuned into each others needs. Thank you for sharing that time with us all and if I ever come across you on my travels I’ll say hello. Today I get my camper van - delivery was delayed because of COVID-19 and a shutdown at the converters due to illness. Take care.

Thanks so much Sandie. How exciting to be getting your camper after the delay. Who knows we may bump into you one day on the road, not literally I hope 😂 It would be great to meet you 🙂👍

What a great question and answer session Ken & Carol I have to laugh I had carol down as being a secretary or personal assistant because so she seems to be so organised and as for you Ken I had you down as working for the Government in some way.you are great at talking in a calm way and nothing seems to get you flustered. I really enjoyed hearing about your careers and how you meet and seeing the photos of yourselves and travels in your caravans that you have owned. Well done looking forward to part 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 lol cheers

What a lovely chat from you n carol. I think carol n I would get on great on kitchen experiments, as I do lots of homemade kitchen stuff. Mike (from wee brown van) every time I here his voice makes me want to enjoy a wee shot of my Scottish whiskey. I loved the Hebrides series. It would have been my 7th vacation to Scotland this year, but due to COVID, had to cancel. I live in a very beautiful state of Wisconsin,but I love visiting your country through your videos

Thanks for sharing this video! I love listening to people's stories and it helps us get to know you both better. Adding the photos made it even more interesting. I will consider this my first lesson in video story telling, something I really need to practice. When I was searching for a van and someone to do the camper conversion, a Nissan NV200 was at the top of my list but after adding in the conversion cost, my budget ranked it differently.😮 The budget is the ultimate decision-maker, right?

Thanks for watching Annie, glad you enjoyed the video. I guess you are right, the budget will massively affect the decision on which vehicle to go for 👍🙂
