Very important advice! Another issue with Drosera seed especially is that some sundews are very prolific seeders - avoid anybody selling species like aliciae, spatulata and capensis in quantities of 10 or 15 seeds at exorbitant prices because that's simply mean when a single plant can produce thousands of seeds that sow themselves everywhere in the greenhouse. Not to mention the ridiculous cost of post and package for seeds that are basically like dust...

Very true. Not sure how they get them separated down to those low numbers lol. Then the cost! They are making a ton on markup!

Thank you! I found your superb advice when I serched for 'blue nepethes' as I just could not believe they exist. You confirmed this. Indeed it is so important to buy the carnivora from legal sellers who love their plants.

Thank you!! I’m glad it could help!! Yeah it definitely is important to but from reputable sellers. I don’t want to see anyone get taken advantage of!

Great topic. I recently reported a seller to ebay for seeds that were not the nepenthes seeds ( at least not on their photo ) that they were selling. For size a good one is to ask the pot size. Then you can compare that with how large the plant looks in relation to the pot.

Nice!!! That is a good strategy! Yeah I have been burned by that before too. Got my plant and it was way smaller than what the seller lead on.

This helped cause I almost fell for one before!

Amazes me how these scams are getting more frequent

Yes! It is so unfortunate. I just had to ban another poacher on my Facebook group trying to sell a bunch of Mollis that were obviously poached. So sad and makes me so angry!!

@@Carnivorousplanthelp shame, I heard another was doing appendiculata recently, even admitted to poaching it prior to discovery for selling under guise of hort 😂, interpol nabbed them
@CarnivorousplanthelpАй бұрын
That is awful. Why can’t people just let the plants be in their natural habitat?!
