I have a similar strategy, I call it the 3/2 strategy. You take your $500, put $300 on 1-18 or 19-36, then $200 on 3rd 12 or 1st 12 depending on your $300 bet. You win 20% of your total bet or $100. It's easier to bet than this strategy as it's just two bets covering the table but 6 and 0s

A little less than 5/ 6 of the time you win $100. A little more than 1/6 of the time you lose your whole stack of $500. The reason those odds are not exactly 5/6 and 1/6 is because of 0 and 00 on the wheel. Do this enough times and you will be sure to lose money.

I played a similar strategy for like 8 hrs. Just moving money around the table. We really made it when black was rolling. We would make the spread and bet black. Its an incremential strat but it does work. Give or take if you play zero. The strategy we used plays every number essentially. Same way. Just other side of the board. Idk what its called. Sort of. Probability =/= actuality. There was an interesting video covering that on a different channel, where with a sample of 20-sided dice rolls, it took ages to get the actual statistic of an average of 10.5. If there's an 80% chance of winning, then it's already stacked in your favor. I'd say that's pretty decent odds if it's purely off of chance alone.
