So grateful for this video! I’ve been a wife and homemaker for 1.5 years. People look at me like I’m crazy for being a homemaker if I don’t have kids yet. Even people at church, which I would think would see the value in being a homemaker, have wondered why I’m not working. I think churches should teach more on biblical womanhood. Feminism has creeped into many churches without people even realizing it. It has been a blessing to have had the time to grow closer to God, become a good wife, and improve my skills as a homemaker. I am 19, unmarried (completely single actually), and unemployed. I am currently seeking a job in my respective career path even though once I find that husband and get married I will quit and prepare the home for my future children. :) A lot of people my age completely disagree with the "traditional home" and hustle culture is becoming more and more publicized with social media, but I feel so much more like a woman when I envision my future with my husband. I want to be the woman who puts God first and serves her husband as God commands. All I have right now is reliance on God's timing :)

Thank you so much! This is such an important topic. I'd like to add that children for some may never come. I always thought I'd be a mom, but it wasn't in the cards for us. But that doesn't suddenly change what I am fundamentally. My duty as God made me is still the same. I am still a homemaker and my husband's helpmeet. My husband's job is very stressful and demanding and it makes no sense for me to work outside our home and never be there when he gets home and when he needs me. It makes the hard work worth it to him to have me calm and peaceful and our home clean and welcoming and beautiful home grown food to eat. And not only do I take care of everything out on country home...which is full time work....but I also am free to help my aging parents and and be a very helpful aunt and godparent. I am able to to keep all of the connections alive in our family and community that my husband often has to sacrifice, but through me and my involvement, he feels connected. So many people rely on me and our life is very full and fruitful in other ways. I have created a beautiful life for my husband and I and I never would have found such happiness and satisfaction if I had buckled to the pressure of hurrying off to work (ug! so insulting! I work very hard!) just so I could justify myself to other people who don't understand.

We have 7 children (all glory to God). We adopted twice. I love staying home with my children. I can’t tell you how often I’m asked what I’m going to do when they are all grown, like that’s when I’ll finally be able to have a life. My husband and my kids are my life. People can’t comprehend how I could ever find happiness by raising children. I can’t comprehend not finding happiness in your children. What will I do after they are grown? Rest and enjoying watching what they all become and what they do. I’ll still be helping my husband.

My number one priority when I got married was to have children first, then decide on career.. well i hip hopped around careers for 10 years and due to the infertility struggles as I've mentioned before, I won't be able to focus on children in our home. I know with my financial plane right now, being a homemaker is not possible, but maybe in the future God will lead me to that.. so for now, I continue working, giving God the glory anywhere I am led. Presently prioritizing my physical health as well this year, particularly. I pray for all those who are homemakers to be steadfast and secure where they are. :)

My mind is clearer, I feel much more fulfilled, and our marriage has been better. There is nothing I love more than being able to ask my husband every morning “what do you need from me today?” And having the physical and mental energy to make sure that it gets done.

I appreciate this video. I’ve been a homemaker without children for over a year- I’ve had to deal with so much judgment. I love it despite people’s opinions. When I was working full time I was highly stressed/burnt out, our house was a disaster, our pets were neglected and i only made a third of what my husband made anyways. It was pointless. And on the numbing stress with shopping, that hit home. I used to shop constantly when I worked.

I was so relieved to quit my jobs once my first baby was born. I did get pregnant about the min. we got married, but I had wanted to quit so often during the pregnancy because I knew I wasn't able to fulfill my roll at home to the best of my ability. I had the same thoughts though - that I wasn't allowed to be a "stay-at-home wife" and I had to wait until I was a "stay-at-home mom." What a gift to have that opportunity now.

I'm a homemaker and I have a job (work from home) and I get those questions a lot. What do you do? How do you manage? Why don't you just go to the office wouldn't that be so much easier? The idea of having your family first and prioritizing basically anything other than what makes money is very hard for many to understand.

Even with a child I was asked several times, "What do you do all day?" Even my mother- in- law who did work even with her child asked me. You would have to know me, but when asked a stupid question I give a sarcastic answer. So typically my answer was, "Have you ever kept a home? There's always something to do."

I was home for a year before being a mom because of my job ending and our adoption situation but I stayed so busy. People would ask me what I did and I didn’t have a set answer but I was plenty busy. If I had thought about it I would have said being a homemaker. Great job!

Yes, and it’s frustrating how demeaning some of the comments are. I’ve been asked ‘what do you DO all day?’ by people who are okay with living in a messy environment, eating processed foods and not tending their garden. I think some people will simply never understand.

Great video - not only is it ok to be a homemaker with no kids , it's also ok to be a homemaker while still working outside the home full time. There are many versions of homemakers. I don't have any children at home - my son is grown and out on his own. My husband is retired and due to finances, I work full time - I work from home but still monday through friday 9-5- , but I still condsider myself a homemaker . I take pride in doing all the things - the laundry the cooking, the cleaning - my work for pay is to help pay the bills but my true passion is homemaking and to make our home a place where my husband and i enjoy being.

Your video, was exactly what I needed someone out in the universe to confirm. My husband and I will not be having children, and through programming (I grew up in Los Angeles County CA) I believed a child would be the only reason a woman would qualify to be a homemaker. Rarely have I come across anyone who has outright dismissed this myth. Thank you for making this video. It literally made me cry tears of relief.

I remember when my 5 children where very small in the 1980's. (I had 5 in 5 years) & someone asked me at a family party "Why aren't you working full time?" not in a very nice way. The women had 2 small kids & worked full time. My husband had a good job with General Motors & I worked part time as a nurse. I explained to her " it would cost more money to pay day care for the kids then I would make." "we work opposite shifts so we don't pay daycare" People would shame you if you were not working full time even with kids. I enjoyed working as a nurse & was happy to work part time. You are so fortunate to be both on the same page about how you are living your life. Don't feel any shame in what you are doing. It is your business & no one else's.

I can't work due to health issues and I still have people call me a gold digger. My boyfriend is poor and I don't spend money. 😕 it makes no sense. People are hateful. You guys have a right to pick the right kind of life for yourself. God also gave us free will.

I’ve now watched quite a few videos on your channel now and I’m very enlightened on a lot of aspects but 1. I also was a homemaker before Children and I desperately wanted children I couldn’t get pregnant for 6 years after getting married at 18. I then lost my first child at birth. Then couldn’t get pregnant for 2 more years. Then I had my son where I felt immensely blessed and all children are a blessing HOWEVER having children I learned how extremely extremely difficult raising children can be. I wish now that I waited and not spent so much time yearning for children instead waiting til I was more mature and able to mentally handle my kids. I tried extremely hard but everyday my first son is so challenging and I’m at lost after prayer and reading books and gathering advice it’s still hard and I’m still lost constantly. Advising younger people to have children I don’t suggest because not everyone is ready and it’s a huge thing a life is completely in your hands no matter how difficult it is it’s on you to figure out with no answers ever enough. I wish I had more people around me to tell me the realness of being a parent all children are not the same and no matter why I do I don’t feel equipped. And this is coming from someone who spent their entire life yearning to be a mother. The irony 🥺

I love this ! I feel like this isn't talked about much, but I actually saved us lots of money when I quit my second job. I was working a 2nd job for extra money, but we ended up spending more, considering that I wasn't home to make homemade meals. I didn't really have as much time to budget groceries, and we ate out more because I was never home, we didn't need to use a second vehicle as much, etc. So you can definitely save money by working less, funnily enough!

Thank you for this encouragement this is a great video I'm at the other end of the spectrum now where my children are getting older and moving out and I'm getting told now the kids are leaving home so you could go out and get a job now and what they don't realize is that I still am a homemaker and I will someday be here to be able to visit my grandchildren or visit my children or have my grandchildren sleepover during the week so I'm at the other end now we're yeah I get asked or get looked at funny if I'm not working.

Oh how I wish we lived in the same town as you!! We would be such good friends 😄 your videos are so encouraging and everything you point out I’m like YES!! My husband and I are learning so much from you and we are so encouraged. I have been bringing my son to work with me ever since he was 6 weeks old and now he is 20 months old. We had felt that it was a blessing to be able to do that, but at the same time I wanted so bad to stay home with him and we just never saw that as an option. I knew I would have to stay home some day because he can’t just come to work with me his whole life LOL. I have been physically drained and I feel that working with my son at work as well has really worn me down emotionally and health wise. It has definitely taken a toll on our marriage. All that to say.. we are so excited to step into Biblical gender roles! I am more than happy for my husband to be the man in the relationship with the responsibilities of a man! I have not quit my job yet… but we are in the process of making it happen, and definitely praying along the way. God is so good. It is only by his grace that we know what we know!! So many divine appointments with meeting certain people who have talked about this and now coming across your channel has just been so confirming. Praise God!! Amen!

I left my job in 2021 to be a homemaker without children. I have a question if you'd like to share - wondering how you get health insurance? Do you pay for your own or go on your husband's? I honestly don't know any homemakers in my community so just wondering! That is my concern at the moment with one income.

Ah I'm so glad this was helpful and encouraging. Praise God you had the courage to quit even before children and I bless you guys on your childbearing journey! For insurance we use the healthshare program called Christian Healthcare Ministries. It has been the most affordable, and we really don't use insurance, we would just need it for pregnancy and emergencies.

Iam also a Christian, and i can relate to what you are saying. I went down to 8 hours a week before we had children, and I'm glad i did. Thinking about how your timetable with kids is different than what you expected. Two of my friends have had great success with a fantastic specialized fertility doctor(after seeing numerous other fertility doctors for years). His name is Dr. Gavin Puthoff in St. Louis, MO. There really might be something inside you that needs by a small surgery correction. I have also heard about vitamin E supplements being a key player for some in infertility. Just thought I'd pass that along.

I am having some hormonal problems so I haven't been able to get pregnant yet, because of that I was very scared of quitting my job but I have been so stressed out that my husband told me that it's OK if I want to quit, I'm quitting in 6 weeks and I CAN'T WAIT.

I think it also depends on how well off the husband is. Of the husband makes good income then its less of an issue. I mean I would love to quit my job or work part time but i see it as I have to help financially because my husband is not well off or doesn't have a high income for two. I'm sure there's a lot of women who would love to not work but can't because they need to pau bills. My husband doesn't get it as well. It's hard in this generation when women feel pushed to work even of they don't want to but we are called to be realistic 😔. How do I remove myself from this trap of money, paying bills two income is better than one etc. Someone help. It's nice when your husband supports this. I think I need support from my partner. How can I help my husband to understand without making him feel bad.

Hey Stephanie! I'm right there with you! I've never been great at what I've seen as "structure /routine" so finding what works for me has taken some time! It has been a lot of trial and error, and I've given myself grace for that time because we haven't really been prepared to be homemakers =) Practically, having a chalkboard calendar on the wall, and then another chalk board with all my goals on it, which I then put those tasks into the calendar. Keeping the vision of what your hopes are with being a homemaker and the things you wish to accomplish will keep you focused and feeling purposeful! God bless you!

I have the same struggle. Sometimes the morning can get away from me and then I get feelings of anxiousness because I’m like….what am I even doing I’m useless. (Which is a lie) But for me I like to make a list of goals for the month or year, or 5 years And I often think about what kind of life I want to have built when I’m 60 And that gives me perspective

There are a lot of reasons why a couple would want to wait on having kids. Yes we need to trust God. But God gives us a spirit of sound judgment. So if you have prayed and you don’t feel ready to have kids early in marriage it does not make you bad.

This was me....it took chronic illness for me to feel like I could stay home with infertility. The horrible stress of working crummy jobs gave me that illness, and may have contributed to infertility. The feminist pressure ruins lives - ladies don't listen to this garbage!
