I bought a Saleen mustang new. Sold it with 8500 miles on it after 3 engines blew up. And they did everything they could to not honor the warranty. Literally in the 3 years I owned it it was in the shop more than it was in my possession

Saleen has been around for 40 years sir, not 30......first cars made in 1984. I've owned a 2000 Saleen S281 (heavily modified at this point) for 23 years. Love the car. Love the folks at Saleen. Met Steve and his wife and his daughter several times. Great folks. Great cars. Lousy investment potential. Not going to do it.

That sounds like TVR's new car thats "almost to production" for almost a decade now. Taking deposits, pre-orders, penny stock investing is just the 3 "do not bring your money anywhere near this" signs.

The thing that annoys me is Saleen built great race cars. From SCCA Mustangs of the 80s to the SR GT2 of the mid 90s and 00's-2010's GTS class S7.R...they all won races. So whats the disconnect with the road cars they produced.

Rob, you're Gen X, not a boomer. I got an email inviting me to invest in Saleen. I love the S7, but Saleen doesn't have the best track record. No pun intended.

I would think you would want to invest in companies with the potential to dominate an industry. Why would anyone invest in a low volume specialty car company especially one with a history if financial problems that has no chance of dominating anything? Most people outside car geekdom have never even heard of Saleen.

I've driven a 2004 Saleen Mustang convertible s281 it wasn't very nice and fun road car I also drove a 2000 Roush Mustang and I will say the Roush felt much more track capable the saleen was more of a nice everyday car Roush Mustang was a stage 2 or 3 it was a cool car the saleen ended up getting totaled though it spun out on the freeway on my sister's husband

Saleen has been a mess financially for decades. They need to get some Saudi guys to invest. They have so much money they don’t care if it is a good investment
