And Elaine saying she had her own receipts but she decided not to share being the bigger person basically. Just shameful. A true apology would’ve gone a long way

I watched her “apology” video and completely agree with you. There was ZERO accountability with plenty of contradictions. It was painful to watch.

It makes me sad to know Ebony felt victimized all over again! I spoke with her after Elaine’s post and she definitely did. 😢 I was really hoping Elaine’s video would be the catalyst for togetherness and change. However, in order for that to happen you can’t shift blame. Those impacted need full accountability and acknowledgment of what happened to us. We are owed a true and real apology! It starts with BGC & CIK because they are obviously at the core of it all. Also, like I mentioned in Elaine’s post, Narada has already done all the work. He’s helped us figure out what happened to our hair and how to repair it. So the stylist who are pivoting should really seek his guidance on how to best do that. This situation is not new. Matter of fact, it’s been almost 2 years and I’ve grown out a whole new head of hair. I say all that to say, the work has been done. Narada is the king when it comes to diagnosing this type of damage. He knows what to look for and how to go about dealing with it. So he’s truly the key to the resolution if one is to be had.

I don’t like how she was still low key kinda blaming Ebony still. You see all these stylists in her comments acting like they’re suddenly waking up but still no actual statement or apology from the actual BCG founders yet SMH. Just terrible all around.

“I don’t want to be a curl specialist anymore” clown ass apology. she tried to blame ebony. you are right, if she had blown cuticles already then it’s bc of the instructions she was given….

I'm with you. I also find it funny how she didn't mention you but Rosie and Shelly. You have spoken about these issues that she is now claiming to have become aware of. And the comments, wow, I mean she is essentially saying the method is trash, but the comments of support are so different than when you said the same thing.

I think she's trying to avoid me and stay off of my radar. She also probably feels some type of way that i brought ebony on and made her have to respond to her

I even noticed the curl specialist I used to go to now offers blown out hair cuts. These hairstylists are so full of it with no explanation or accountability of what they've been doing and the damage they are responsible for.

I have a low tolerance for nonsense and ridiculosity (yes I made it up). But seriously. To say her customer already had blown out cuticles and NOT correlate it to the 30 day detox she was likely required to do before being serviced is insane. Still talking to us like we don’t have any sense or as if a lot of us weren’t a victim of this horrendous hair tragedy. We all had to do the detox before any of them would see us. We probably all had the same blown out cuticles at our first curly cut appointment because of the detox. To hear them tell it, we all just came in with hair that needed the “stupid” taken out of it. I’d like to thank Elaine for pointing out that the detox probably started us all out with the same raggedy blown out hair which was ignored from the start. This situation gets worse by the day, I swear.

And if she had blown out cuticles before, what did you do to remediate them as her trusted hairstylist?🧐 I’m glad I quickly realized that this movement wasn’t for me & left it in the dust. I only had minor damage and took aal of last year to have it fixed. Stepping into 2025 with all the oils & butters 🎉
@itsessieeffКүн бұрын
Why do they refuse to acknowledge the damage? That's the part I can't get with. That AG Boost/Balance combo they were telling people to use on a WEEKLY basis had my hair feeling terrible. I went back to my Design Essentials Avocado Shampoo and my Camille Rose Deep Conditioner. My hair feels so much better now with products that have oils and butters. The only thing they talked about that works for my hair is not applying raw oils to my scalp. But I seal my ends. These curl specialists spent years laughing at people and acting like they were so "educated". Now that people are calling out the damage with receipts they wanna act like they weren't calling themselves "experts" and want to gaslight people.

I couldn't even finish her video bc all the blame shifting and the obvious bs. If you're gonna put yourself on a pedestal and claim to be a leader or expert then you need to be able to take responsibility and be accountable.
@peachstereoКүн бұрын
Yeah watching that video….she omitted so much information about her role in Ebony’s hair and the state it was in before she came to her-due her instructions before Ebony was even “allowed” to make an appointment. The fact she didn’t apologize to Ebony was crazy work. And kept placing blame on her for the state of her hair as if she didn’t contribute significantly to that.
@laurettehamilton4243Күн бұрын
Once she said I grew up in a 🇬🇭 household with high ecxpectations -regarding professionalism the downfall of no accountability was out the gate. To apologize would mean she knows she wrong. To mention your name would totally embarrass her. The opening line I don’t want to be a curly hair specialist anymore was designed to get the viewers sympathy 😢 I’ve worn my hair natural for over 20 years no wigs no weaves but going to a so called professional paying professional prices gets me NOWHERE in terms of satisfaction. But now I can look back at all those videos about how to wash and go- which I always failed combined with how I almost went on that trip to Atlanta with a collection of curly hair specialist who you would come together dress up and brunch with and consult while getting your curls done that Elaine hosted. I’m glad I did not make that mistake😢 Onward

Even if Ebony had blown cuticles to start from some other treatment or method, it is STILL Elaine's fault that Ebony is currently struggling with damaged hair. Because why did she, as the STYLIST, not say or do anything to help reverse the damage once Ebony got to her chair? And then to fire her as a client because she knows her hair is damaged and wants help fixing it?? The clown activity seriously needs to stop
@nakeithasevere4074Күн бұрын
Using the term “curl specialist” is where the gaslighting starts. I know it may be just semantics.. but why not use the term “Afro hair specialist” cuz that’s truly what our hair is. Our hair texture may have some “curly”properties.. but Afro hair needs very different different care and products than those that have actual curly strands.

*I left a bunch of comments on there calling her out for not crediting you. It was hard for me to watch didn’t watch more than 2 min. She is claiming she conducted some sort of study to figure out what was going wrong with people’s hair. We all know that is a lie. If only there was a way for you to let it be known based on the dates on your videos that you are the one who first figured this all out. All the other stylists just copied everything from you and Rosie and Shelly. I left like 7 comments saying it was not right at all* *If only there was a way to TRADEMARK the solutions that you came up with Narada!! It’s aggravating ☹️. They are literally taking credit for your work*

It's okay. I don't want to start a comment war or anything. While it would be nice for haters and naysayers to give me my credit and flowers, it's more important that we don't continue to dismiss women it's their experiences with their curl specialist. I'm moreso concerned that people are aware that ebony went above and beyond as a client but those feelings weren't reciprocated from Elaine.

I’m new here! My teenage daughter was watching that lady (Elaine) hair shenanigans on social media….daughter consistently spewed nonsense and I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from but I know now! People do not understand hair trauma. Our hair AND scalp...is a part of our identity/body and form part of our sense of self. Some of us are happy with little to no hair but that's our choice and how we feel confident in expressing ourselves and living our lives. Although it didn't trigger my specific hair trauma, it made me extremely angry that in the 2020's black women are still paying for hair damage by so-called professionals!! Everything, Ebuni and her peers with damaged hair think, feel and sense is valid. I had a neurodivergent meltdown at work. Maybe there were things I could have done differently to avoid the meltdown but I didn't have the mental capacity to do that at the time. I recognise that my meltdown at work was traumatising for those who had to witness it. I'm happy to put my hand up and say maybe I should resign because this isn't the right environment or team for me to work with. I have no shame in that because I can't control being neurodivergent. That's an apology and also accountability to say hey, I hurt people and maybe I need to take steps to make sure I don't hurt people again. We want to be professional but we are also human with limitations.
