Could not have been more right on the money with my story. Prior military, built AR15's, shooting USPSA for several years...now in the process of learning to build my own 2011. Nice work brother!

Great video! I went threw pretty much everything you mentioned building my 2011 so it was nice hearing pretty much the same worries I had from someone else. Also just bought a race city defense rc9 2011. 4 to 5 month wait time. These things are just beautiful guns it's hard to not too own a bunch of them.

First off, HUGE FAN!!!!! But yeah, that is the right way to do it. Guess spending thousands of dollars and 100,000 rounds is the wrong way, ha ha .

What material did you use to build up the grip to make the tactical jalapeño? I’ve been thinking of buying a new polymer grip and experimenting. Thanks for the video and the recommendation to check out brazos

Cool video. You talk about using the polymer grips for several reasons including seeing them as a wear item and replacing them from time to time. So here's my question: where do you get them? Everywhere I look they're out of stock and STI doesn't make them anymore. Thanks.

Any guidlines on how to make the tactical jalapeno? Do you just take putty and put it on? Is there a bonding material or something?

I apologize for how long this post is going to be. 1. Prep your grip like a for a stipple of silicon carbide job. sand away any existing texture, leave surface rough and porous. 2. you need Greenstuff, that’s the name of the product. www.amazon.com/Green-Stuff-Yellow-Epoxy-Putty/dp/B002MB61RQ/ref=sr_1_1?crid=6MCOPEDVQPXX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.MS5RU5dunwgu2B51UjONFAmxbIGVBU9W0aVbSv7Xhe7-0d8fRV-UTiLuJaRTCURnaaIpGppgYdsnDcvQOkR-GEYYJ3lCHok945PHlEFFiDs2T9_gpAQ5h07sprH4n51rCTdBYLEtbh-hi0G7iogJcFHY5e63-rFaYnnEtc-C1QwbAi9Qg2LSxjzz1WehUyO9fAHTB3H0lUQi36ye2v3cp5QQ7NZ_n8nafRUBO_JDy5f-qXFncBfG5tvrgskymvQUUQMneut97Lqc2UhX9QrsEfq962srcIZWSzZOzjXRjCI.wwJp6r4Kd3S_YZmMGkG8H9hzBKO8bRCzTIpxAvGTSVY&dib_tag=se&keywords=green+stuff%22+blue%2Fyellow+epoxy+putty&qid=1709134338&sprefix=yellow+blue+epoxy%2Caps%2C80&sr=8-1 follow all directions for Greenstuff and apply to rear support side of the grip in a Jalapeno shape. 3. mold and grip Jalapeno till it feels right to your grip. Its ok if it’s not perfect or the shape isn’t just right at this point. 4. Ensure your support hand has ample and ergonomic space w the Jalapeno. make sure you have a clear path to your mag release. Allow Jalapeno to cure. 5. Using sandpaper and or Dremel, or you preferred tool to remove material shape Jalapeno further to fit your grip. Note, at this point take caution because you can only remove material. you don’t want to overdo it. you blend seems so they are flat w the grip. 6. clear off any excess dust and particles and clean the grip. 7. Commence silicon carbide process.

Good for light stuff, I've seen some guys upgrade these things and really go to town. But the base model is serviceable for simple tasks.
