Oh! Also, I should SHOULD be getting my random $11 Ocarina soon with almost zero branding info that WASN'T found on amazon! 😂 I'll let you know how it goes and maybe send you a video of it. Not expecting great things, but we'll see!

This was my first ocarina purchased more than 10 years ago, but in AC. Agree with everything you said and still loving it. You should check out Takashi ocarinas from Taiwan. I have a triple AC from him. Absolutely lovely and pure sounding ocarinas.

Takashi is VERY high on my list, but they're so expensive T.T ...would be a nice tax write-off though 👀

UPDATE: It turns out the title is a lil bit clickbait. It seems Ti Amo ocarinas, their basic ones in SC, SF, and AC, are available on eBay! However, their professional series does not seem to be available, and the prices are nearly 1.5-2x what you'd pay at a music store in Japan. My recommendation is to buy a Ti Amo ocarina if you're in Japan if you can, as it'll be WAY cheaper, but I'm very glad they're available on eBay!

OH OH!! so I was in my schools music class And I found someone from Canada and they had a TON of ocarinas even a Triple one it was super cool to they had mostly Song bird ocarinas and a few STL ocarinas I always play a night by noble because it's plastic so it can't break easy

VERY NICE

Makes perfect sense to me why this ocarina is very quiet. The Japanese are polite people, and they care about bothering their neighbors.

the % of people who live in paper shoeboxes attached to other people's shoeboxes is also much higher, so its practical in that sense

@@nullifye7816 Exactly. When I was going to college, I was living in a 2 story apartment with brick walls, and a six inch slab of concrete between me and the lower floor. The lady below and kitty corner to me heard my Alto C clearly. She asked me about it one day when I was coming home from school. Lucky for me, she thought it sounded beautiful. I explained the history to her as best I could, how they work, and so on.

That is a major factor why a lot of "hobbyist" Japanese ocarinas (IE. good ones but not necessarily meant for performance) are lower breath pressure/quiet! Dense housing + thin walls make quieter instruments more appealing, as well as products like Mr. Mute for cutting volume

You were literally there when I bought it, and TBH you could make a pretty good profit buying a bunch of them at ~6800 yen and reselling for like $80-90, which is cheaper than what they normally go for 🥸

It's pronounced "oh-karina". That particular model is not well tuned
